Perth lost that game because they were undisciplinned:

they missed easy shots at goal
at one point had their own free-kick over-turnned and EP went on and scorred

Yep, undisciplined. Shot on goal dead in front in second quarter overturned thru undisciplined act caused a 2 goal turnaround and loss of momentum resulting in two more goals against us.
We did well to fight back in last quarter but I suggest the real damage done before half time.
Perhaps unlucky at the end but we have to remain disciplined and take our shots when we have them.
Everyone is hurting but that is the spur to get back on the horse and do better,

Cody Ninyette has received a 1 match sanction and will miss the crucial match against the Tigers on Saturday week.

Yep no surprise the umps missed it but reported the EP player who retaliated with a jumper punch. What did he get? That hurts us but a chance for someone to come in and have an impact. Lennon Marlin for me.

Ninyette got done for rough conduct on Shayne Hille.
In a separate incident, Jackson Nelson copped 1 match for striking Ninyette.

I think it was a game that could have gone either way in the end and it was the luck of who was in front at the siren (or just after!). A great contest to watch, and some real ticker shown by D's to get back in.

East Perth were also undisciplined at times but didn't seem to cop any penalty. Such as the time some WCE wannabe kicked a goal from a set shot, the ran through and completely flatened the Demons player (from behind) and no penalty was given.

I am also curious as to why play stopped when Mitchell Fraser injured his knee, and didn't recommence until he was off the ground. It wasn't a blood rule (as play commenced before his replacement was in position), it wasn't due to a TV commitment and no stretcher was involved.

Anyone else gets injured and play goes on and team plays one short until they manage to get off and get replaced.

Common sense.Mitch Fraser needed two people to assist him off the field. If play continued and should the ball be kicked where they were coming off they might get in the way.We already have runners getting in the way of general play from time to time.I don't see it as a issue.

We could all make comment abt instances of no penalties, take the one where the perth muppet kicked the EP player (not a WCER one) as he ran away from a contest, perhaps the head high tackle and so the list goes on!

As for the the injury to Mitch Fraser, it is not unusual for umpires to hold play when there is what appears to be a serious injury and a potential stretcher being called. They will hold play until the player is safely away from any potenial disruption to play and other players. It is called common sense and an awareness of the game something you obviously don't possess. Oh and how do I know cos I was a trainer for 30 years and often asked umpires to hold play until the outcome was known, not just for my team but even yours!
