Four key changes will be made for the 2018 season including:-

1. The five-game minimum qualification must be League matches.

2. The introduction of a minimum three WAFL League matches post June 30 requirement.

3. An adjustment of the AFL-listed player cap in finals matches down from 15 to 12.

4. The ability for AFL Clubs to submit special requests to the WAFC for young emerging players or players returning from injury to participate in the WAFL Finals when not qualified in accordance with the rules above. Any request endorsed must sit within the maximum cap of 12 players.

The rule changes above only applies when the AFL Club is eliminated or not participating in an AFL Final on the same weekend as the WAFL Partner Club

Number four makes me uneasy however there still has to be a minimum of 10 contracted WAFL players in any aligned side - and this is in writing thank christ

Sad to say, no wonder the Wafl is now seen as being a big joke!

The WAFL clubs had no say in it. They just consulted the two AFL clubs.

Log into the WAFC website and send an email of protest which I have done. This is rubbish where a player has made more AFL appearances than WAFL during the season can still play in WAFL finals,

I am not sure how in hell the mission statement of Fair playing field & pathways for WAFL listers can even be typed up - given that it's an open slather selection policy if either of the 2 AFL maggots are playing finals

Just how is there going to be a pathway ??? only pathway I see there is the one where they get shown the pavement that weekend as there'll certainly be 18-20 of them either playing ressies or nothing at all
FFS this is a poor review - it's just a token gesture with an AFL special appeal clause that can qualify one of their players just by applying to the WAFC

That's great BC, but mate lets be honest, its the two local AFL clubs calling the shots here.

They wont be doing much to change things now based on us WAFL dudes emails.
