I will start with the positives. Well done to our women's teams in winning all three Grand Finals last week. Well done to the colts, reserves and league teams for making the WAFL finals. For our club to get all 6 teams into the finals is a noteworthy achievement.

Yes we were very ordinary in the league today and I am sure that I don't need to articulate how badly we played as I am sure others will cover it extensively. Rather I would like to mention Steve Wityk on his performance in the first quarter that set the tone for our must win game in the reserves. After the disappointment of being dropped his character showed up. Perhaps the league team could look towards that sort of commitment, character and passion next week.

Three Swans Players were reported in the reserves today. Two of them (McGuire and Daniels) would have realistic chances of playing league next week given the performance today. Not great news.

Wityk could have kicked 7-8 goals if he had of brought his kicking boots with him in the 2nd. Totally agree with your sentiments regarding his performance in the ressies today.

As for the reports didn't see Daniels, Maguire's looked like insufficient contact and Sutton in the last 5 mins of last qtr junk time stupidly threw a punch that luckily didn't connect or it would have knocked the bloke in to tomorrow...luckily was only a glancing blow to the rear shoulder blade of EF bloke who should be in the book himself for some of his earlier connections....sutts should get off but what the hell were you thinking Brodes?

DW -- you more or less predictted this at the half way point of the season, stressing that the coach had had his day. I would make the change for next week, give it to one of his assistants.

I think the hardest thing to take for me as a supporter is that the players just don't seem to care when they are being beaten. The huddles over the past few weeks have been very low in intensity and appeared to me to be an opportunity for players to socialise. The attitude is just all wrong. Team spirit seems to be non existent at the moment which was clear in the lack of emotion when we did score the occasional goal today. Contrast that with the EF celebrations when they scored, particularly Andrew Stephens goal in the last term. It looked like a premiership celebration. They have stuck firm with Wiley and this decision will reap them benefits next year.

There has to be and there will be some changes for the game next week. With respect to providing a spark we are badly missing Rogers. One player that should come into our league next week is Wityk and not at the expense of Noble.

mikeh and the SD lads: Has'nt this happened before under Harding, winning early and then strugglling at the end of the season? I think in that season they liftted their game for the final against EF? In that case, you never know next week.
