tm,gtr: I think the DUP were preparred to have a hard Brexit with the return of the border in Ireland. It is not the first time unionists have been stabbed in the back by the Tories. Does anyone remember the Anglo-Irish agreement signed by thatcher in the 1980s?

I am unsure the DUP has played all its cards. A motion of 'no confidence' in the government could be put by the party. If that happens Jeeza won't know what to do.

The original Brexit legislation passed by May did so with the help of Labour, whose members were scarred stiff of the large Brexit majorities in their electorates; the sensible ones, I think lads, are still that way inclined, and to be sure, would also prefer some deal to hard Brexit.

As a hard Brexit supporter I would abstain and let Boris' deal pass. Only time will tell if the electorate will punish the Tories at a future election and support the more hard line Farage.

Yep - 30 native species already there gtr, but none that I am aware of from the Antipodes. B)

However, they are certainly worried about the Asian Tiger Aedes albopictus getting a foothold as it can spread several nasties, including yellow fever, dengue fever and Zika virus.

Don't see many bees, gtr - but they are certainly around. The locals often lob up with a piece of well-laden honeycomb.

No shortage of other insects, including bities and termites. And as you can imagine, mozzies are a real issue, with the Asian Tiger I highlighted above quite prevalent.

Mr Farage would have to contest the election for that to happen - which like in 2017 is something he may not do. If he does decide to run i guess it probably wont be in South Thanet constituency.

Oh well Loon Letwin has torpedoed the first Saturday sitting since the Falklands War, what a massive waste of time.

This endless delay obfuscation and avoidance, is an international embarrassment. The mother of all parliaments is a mother of all shambles.

I've come to the conclusion that the chance of brexit actually happening are very slim.

The morons in the DUP have only got themselves to blame, they were the only NI party to campaign for Brexit, at the same time the wanted to keep the border open ,yet failed to ever find a real solution. Their own constituents voted to remain ( smarter than the DUP because being in the EU works for NI) , they could of had the best deal going having the best of both the UK and EU Tariff regimes allowing its economy to thrive and grow, but the DUP have are pretty good at making a habit of never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Now they find themselves voting in support of Labour and helping Corbyn.

Not the first time, Corbyn like them opposed the Anglo Irish Agreement...lol

The cold hard realisation that they haven't got a friend in the world either Tory or Labour must now be dawning on them, England doesn't want them and Scotland wants to go its own way.

It will be fun to see them under a Corbyn Labour Gov, they might as well start learning Irish now.

the UUP voted to remain
the DUP voted to leave
the traditional unionist voice also campaigned for leave
the DUP have always said that, if it came to the crunch they would pick remain in the union and the EU over Brexit. In all honesty Baz, the DUP don't really need to have friends in the world when they hold the ballance of power in parliament. At the next election, they will win 10 or 11 seats, and, happily some in the Tory party and many in the Labour party will not be at Westminster to greet them.

Labour party, on the other hand, has lied on the issue since the last general election.

Boris the Russian now has a decision to make: should he accept the soft brexit amendments subject to the Labour party supporting legislation for a general election?
