Whenever a Liberal starts talking about how they stopped the boats, ask them if the Liberal Party supported the "Malaysian solution". When they say no, ask them why the Liberal Party chose to support the people smugglers.

The 2019 Federal election is looming as the most important election since 1972. This election will signal whether the RWNJs in the Liberal Party continue to frustrate the need to address climate change or we will have sensible transition to renewables. Where base, racist politicking is no longer considered acceptable.

As an aside it is interesting to see that the person who was responsible for costing Victorians over $1 billion with the cancelled East-West link is now the leader of the Liberal Party. O'Brien signed a side letter just prior to going into caretaker mode knowing that Labor Party did not support the East-West link and Labor could win the 2014 election. The decision to select O'Brien will ensure that Labor will win the next Victorian state election.

What a stark difference between how the Speaker of the House of Commons performs and speakers like Bronwyn Bishop in our House of Representatives. There was also a stark contrast between Scott Morrison closing down Parliament to avoid scrutiny compared to May facing several hours of questions from both her back bench, her DUP coalition partner and opposition parties. But to be fair and balanced there were some similarities between May and Morrison: both chose to delay a vote rather than be defeated in a vote.

Whilst it is sustainable to argue that Liberal Party policies are good (and no I don't agree with them) but what is not sustainable is for people like Peta Credlin who suggest that Y2K was a myth. That assertion speaks directly to how base and far removed from reality her views are.

No sane, rational person can argue that there were significant problems associated with the Y2K bug.

No wonder we have a coalition government that does not have a clue about developing sensible energy policy.

I am amused and bemused that people like Peta Credlin is campaigning to get NSW electors to vote under the line. I wholeheartedly support that campaign for Liberal Party and National voters. I suspect that this action would most likely increase the number of informal votes quite significantly.
