The shifty Libs & Nats have rejected a proposal by Labor to establish an all-encompassing, Federal anti-corruption body - I wonder why.

Quite happy to spend big bucks to oversee the unions, and had to be dragged kicking and screaming into establishing the Finance Industry Royal Commission.

Get your facts right...

They haven't said no to a federal ICAC, that has bipartisan support.

What they have said no to is the ALP plan ( or lack thereof) which is devoid of details and legislation, which isn't unusual , its the Labor way just like the shambolic NDIS and the NBN on the back of a coaster.

Q: How many prime ministers does it take to fuuck up world-class national communications infrastructure?

A: In Australia, it only takes 2.

Back of a coaster ............. hmmm? Seems only the Murdoch press, disingenuous right wing pollies, and their incredulous followers are still swallowing that line.

Fasta, soona, cheepa! said Malcolm. We'll all have 25Mbps by 2016 promised the Coalition (in 2013).

Well that seemed to have worked, except for a considered view on being dragged kicking and screaming into a Royal Commission on the banks.

Next thing you will be telling me that the Liberals were 100% behind the banking RC.

Given that under Labors management after years all they had connected was half of Tasmania, just think by 2090 they might have reached WA. Whole thing was a rip off from the start, should never have agreed to it.

Well they had one in the end

What would of been the chances of the ALP having one into :

The CFMEU
and the Pink Batts disgrace where people died?

I will tell you NIL..

I'll double check but I thoughts there was a Royal Commission into the pink bats and deaths from it and I would have thought that the Royal Commission into trade unions would have looked at the CFMEU (it would be strange if the Libs called one into trade unions and it didn't look at the CFMEU.

Also thought that two CFMEU officials had charges laid against them as a result of investigations by the Royal Commission and they were subsequently dropped, however I will try and check that too.

Oh Bazza, Bazza, Bazza you really should expand your sources of news from just the likes of Paul Murray (Eastern States' version), Ross Cameron and The Australian. You may then realise that post-2013 there were a number of RCs called to investigate the Unions and "Pink Batts". However, let's just stick with the "Pink Batts" RC. Any work related death is tragic and SHOULD NOT be used as a political motivation to damage a political opponent which is EXACTLY the motivation of T Abbott. If he was really interested in improving worker standard then he would have called a wide ranging RC to investigate ALL work related deaths to try to improve workplace safety. But no that would not have provided the attempt to politically damage his opponents in the Labor Party.

If I were to donate $100 to charity for each person convicted as a result of the RCs called by Tony Abbott concerning the Unions and the "Pink Batts" and you donate $100 for anyone convicted as a result of the banking RC I know who would be donating a lot more money to charity. And please do not try the PATHETIC DEFENCE that Turnbull called the banking RC; he was FORCED to do it because of the ALP, Greens and members of Turnbull's government that were going to cross the floor and support the call for a banking RC.

Bazza are you sure you are not enoughisenough who "contributes" on the Age and SMH political discussions?
