I finally got it a week after my whole family got it but I didn't get it from them. Surprising I didn't get it sooner the line of work I'm in but finally it caught up with me. I put it down to the sudden cold weather and reports are cases are on the rise.

It's hit me like a ton of bricks like a bad ass case of the flu. You name the symptoms I've got it. What surprised me was how quickly it came on . Felt a little bit of an itchy throat on Monday night late but woke up in the middle of the night and the morning feeling like shit.

Did a RATS test and came up strong positive, went straight to SJOG MIDLAND for a PCR and came back positive within hours. I was super impressed with the staff and set up at SJOG Midland. The PCR wasn't as bad as I thought, the girl then showed me how to register for Covid Home Care and they have been brilliant.

They called me within a few hours and said I qualify for the antiviral drug and they sent an email to my GP to organise a telehealth appointment. Unfortunately the medical practice wasn't so professional, they initially booked a Friday appointment which I received by email.

I called them and said no Covid Care said you have to action this today so I can get the antiviral drug today. They then said they can't email scripts I'll have to get someone to pick it up. I explained I have to self isolate for 7 days and my family are also in iso. I had to get WA Health and Covid Care to phone them and kick their ass.

A telehealth appointment was made for the same day and the doctor was able to send me an escript which I emailed to my local pharmacy who took payment over the phone and delivered the medication that afternoon.

Covid Care are sending me a medical device to measure my blood oxygen levels. They couldn't be more helpful. It gives great comfort knowing you have that level of support.

All the best DD.
An old bloke (75) and his Mrs got it a couple of weeks ago.  He said it knocked them for a six for 2 days, then they came good a couple of days after. The Dr told them the vaccinations stopped it from being worse.  I guess all this proves is that they still know bugger all about this bloody ailment.  It’s my worst fear atm.
Stay safe mate.

Good to see you're back on deck DD. I haven't had it yet...well that I know of anyway but I guess it hits us all differently. Best wishes to all on here and hopefully no-one gets really crook.

Actually just checked the SMS I got from them yesterday I thought Covid Care was a federal government service but it's a WA run program so hats off to the state government for this service. This is the sms I received.

I don't think everyone qualifies for the antiviral drug Devonliegh. I'm 59, overweight and have a couple of chronic illnesses being asthmatic and have psoriatic arthritis which is an auto immune disease. Over the counter it will cost you just over $1000 but I paid just $42.50.

They rang me to check up on me just as I was finishing the previous post. They ask a million questions and are very thorough. They said the blood oxygen device has been released today and I should receive it within 1 to 2 days. They ask about your mental health so there's another service they provide if you need it.

Thanks for your kind words guys and here is the web address of the WA Covid Care program in case anyone needs it now or in the future. The nurses at any Covid testing clinic should be getting you to fill it out straight after your PCR test.

I'm going to get my fourth shot after I have recovered and recommend anyone else go and get it if you haven't already. Cases are suddenly on the rise again and I reckon it's due to the colder weather.

All the best DD, as others said it hits different people very differently. My daughter at 41 has Rhumatoid arthritis and other associated ailments so she qualified immediately for that anti-viral shot, she was crook for a couple of days but nothing too severe.
She's a pharmacists so right on the front line. I've had all 4 jabs plus the flu jab so hopefully if I get it it wont be too sever. Working from home helps to keep away from too many contacts.

Haha. You're on the money about working from home SS. The only time I see the light of day is when I go and watch the not so mighty Lions and a bit of grocery shopping. I have to go to India for work soon which I'm not overly thrilled about but it is what it is I guess as we'll all get it eventually.
