...All of which begs the question of why 1 state opposition MP and one from the Greens do not want him in the position any-more?
From all reports, McKechnie being well qualified and doing a good job in the role. And had been doing a good job for many years.
Obviously with some of the current investigations happening, it would appear someone obviously has been unsettled. Maybe the panels decision has been influenced for that reason?
There has been some bloody disgraceful behaviour by some shire councils for example. The MP with the laptop spending taxpayers money on his private yacht, amongst other things. Although apparently some of the things on said laptop were a "mistake'. And earlier the DoC scandal. Whereby the department head had been very, very naughty.
Certainly hope the current investigations do not simply get swept under the carpet, now that McKechnie has gone!?
For mine, a lot of questions need answering.

What I don't understand is that there are 2 members of the committee who voted against the reappointment (one liberal and one green) and yet the government only seems to highlight the liberal members. Why has the greens member got off the hook here?

In political terms, the Greens don't represent any threat to the government in the medium-to-long term.

On the other hand, the Libs represent (at best) a medium term threat - so that's who you go after.

They also have the known (and undisclosed) skeletons in Edman's closet (laptop). The Greens may also, or perhaps they are taking a principled stand - based on I don't know what.

Nah the Greens are Labors mates, thats why they dont get a mention.

Its a storm in a Tea Cup, theres plenty of other people around well qualified to run the CCC.
