AM if Freo can pull their finger out and get the deals done for Hogan and Lobb it is going have a ripple affect through the list. Kersten, Apeness and McCarthy will be the ones in the gun. I see Cox as being a lot more versatile than any of those three but going to be interesting to see how Lobb, Hogan, Taberner, Cox, McCarthy up forward and then down back we have Pearce, Hamling, Ryan and Logue to come back in.

Going to be interesting to see how Sandi, Darcy and Lobb are managed.

you'd think McCarthy would struggle to get a game if that forward line-up ever eventuated....it'd be pretty potent though and the backs look good as well if you throw Wilson and Stephen Hill off half back.

Certainly will be interesting DD. Didn’t Lobb say he didn’t want to ruck? Will they have a player who tells the coach where he’s going to play? They’ll want to tread carefully with him methinks.

Yeh according to the media 58 and I assume that is the case but comes down to team balance. My point being can you play 2 x 7 footers (or thereabouts) and Darcy in the same team? Then add Hogan, Taberner, Cox etc...

But next year is a new set of rules that could favour tall marking players. Interesting times.

If Fremantle get Hogan and Lobb you would have to think that would help Taberner, McCarthy and Cox when they play as they would get the third best defender. Would provide great forward depth to a club that has lived on a one man forward line (how must Pav be feeling now, if only he had help)

Agree CBAG. You would think that Hogan gets the best defender, then Lobb or Taberner. This would leave Cox to get the fourth best and McCarthy to play a different role perhaps as a lead up forward further up the ground. His field kicking isn’t to bad and if the right structures are in place could be used as a player that sets up the play, delivering the ball inside 50.

McCarthy will have to i,prove a lot to be a regular part of the team next season. He needs to get fitter and stronger.
Lobb , if we get him, will play mostly forward I would think.Maybe a third string ruck.Having him will allow Taberner and Cox to be settled in forward positions.
Just to add as well. Next season we get back Blakely and Logue. Both were sadly missed last season.
It seems that Logue has almost been forgotten in all the direness of the season just gone.He was a big strong asset across our back line.He will come back bigger stronger and faster than before his injury. He could even become a large bodied mid fielder for us.

You give Logue a big rap there Anchor. I recall him as somebody who played not many games and looked far from ready for the AFL. Fremantle would be gambling if they’re banking too much on him for next season I would think. And how can they delist Bennell? He’s got a contract doesn’t that mean he’s locked in for next season?
