Well an attractive offer has been made and the Dockers have confirmed their interest in Jarrad Waite. I think if Frawley puts pento ppaper it makes an even more attractive proposition to join Fremantl.

Win nothing at Melbourne or win nothing at Freo.....

Must be a hard choice?

I'm not sure he would DD due to an AFL rule around duty of care by a club and given the supplements issue at essendon, he could get released from his contract.

Mr AFL wrote: I think Frawley is a good player but does have his flaws as pointed out by Gary Lyon. I do not think he is worth any more than $400K a year.

I would much prefer that we go after Jake Carlisle. Has shown what a good player he can be at either end of the ground. With Taberner and Apeness being groomed as forwards this would allow Carlisle to play down back.

Agree. I think Frawley is servicable at best and he is definitely asking for more than what he is worth. Does that mean he thinks he is a better player than what he actually is?

Jake Carlisle is still very young and is a very good footballer. Freo should be forgetting Frawley and throwing everything at Carlisle in my opinion.

I doubt we have room for Carlisle though Frawley and Waite would probably cost us about the same together.

He is versatile as was proven this year when Roos switched him to the forward line. Remember we used to do that with McPharlin as well.
He is a better player than some are giving him credit for.

His uncle ( danny) said he wont be leaving Victoria a/man. Reckon we ( cats ) will get him.....still time will tell :)

Waite and Frawley you would think would cost us about $800-900K combined.

I would much rather give Carlisle a 7-year deal at $600-700K a year and then allow Taberner and Apeness to develop as forwards.

Whilst Waite has shown he can be a very very good footballer at times with his age and even if we get 2-3 years out of him, he would take games off Taberner and Apeness.

Not a chance in hell anyone will get Carlisle for those figures. He would command $700k plus, more likely around the $800k mark.

I don't think the Geelong thing is as done and dusted as some might think. He has been offered a better deal here than with the Cats I believe. He must be giving it a great deal of thought, other wise why would he bother to come over and see what Freo have to offer.
I am not sure he would actually ask Uncle Danny what he thought

Well free weekend away for him and the misses business class.( who wouldnt??) Always gotta listen to other offers. His Uncle gave his OPINION ( Frawley is a country lad, and family has strong ties in Geelong).
Yes freo offer is better, though flying way every second week apparently isnt that appealing, despite the extra coin. ( les 50% tax of course)/.
Very close mates with rivers ( does help)
