The only blow out in all four games was a 5.4 second term to nil in the 2nd qtr against PA last week. All other games we have been right in it with a few minutes remaining, even the dying seconds against Essendon. Is it a good sign or a are we just getting closer to a reality check and a walloping?

Taberner and Hogan played really well yesterday but they had to play high to earn their marks and kicks but they seem to have a real good chemistry. I reckon they kicked the ball to each other at least half a dozen times and every time hit the target and marked the footy. But neither of them seemed to be able to take a lead and mark for a clear shot at goal within kicking range.

With Fyfe most likely to miss a couple of games surely Connor Blakely has to come in. Something going on there, I reckon since his attempt to move to Gold Coast in the off season, or was it Brisbane has put him on the outer. He would probably struggle to get a game in that outfit right now.

One of the good signs was Hayden Youngs game, he looks composed and skilled and could be a future champion. Not sure you could say the same about Brayshaw, Cerra, Logue, Darcy, or Tucker at the moment, the clubs future. Success still seems heavily dependant on Fyfe, Walters, Hogan and Taberner. Freos side on the weekend didn’t actually look very young to me, a lot players should be in their prime right now.

TOO is that the blonde haired pony-tailed lad who is playing off half-back, if so he's a quality player with a superb LF kick.
