Not good today

Few things I noticed

Kicking to the other team a lot
Kicking Backwards
Kicking ball out of bounds on the full

Basic skill errors let us down today and big game against peel thunder next weekend Finals out of the question now.

Spot on especially the Turnover and so basic straight to the opponents.
Looking at last week and today we can only say we Choked :(

Dont take any notice of the SCORE as EF were very inaccurate. I saw 4 points they got at the northern end in a row and they all should of been easy goals. I thought god must of been on our side. That was in one period they also missed a couple early they should of got..at least another 6 Goals... They need to work on that and they might be a chance in the Finals.

Great that at least the Colts and Reserves (The Mean Machine) carried the flag for the club :)

It is a tragedy in a way that the season is over for the WAFL clubs with the result today with so many games to go. CLA wouldnt be happy with our result either as they are now out of the Running with a good win today.

Congrats to EF and all the best to them for the Finals. Now if you can get to third for a Elimination final at home would be excellent.

Seeya at CLA and Lathlain for the League after that hope you come along and support the Reserves where ever they may play.

Now time for a Bourbon

GREAT TO SEE THE BIG TURNOUT FROM EF Today,.,.. The train was Busy :cheer:

It is the defensive mind-set of the coach which is the problem. He makes them run up and down the ground playing that silly Roosball, it no wonder players make mistakes. Players are just too knackered to kick the ball properly by the time they have done all that running. The game is suppose to be a slow game: you take a mark, you go back behind your mark and you kick to position. If coaches actually go back to this style of play, they may notice that a ball witch has been kicked 50 metres goes faster through the air toward goal than a group of players trying to hand ball sideways to each other and stuffing it up.

Gee and didnt it PISS YOU OFF when they went backwards on a least 5 occasions which in the end achieved NOTHING!!!!
The object of the game is to move your ball forward via the shortest possible route IF POSSIBLE and PUT THE POINTS ON THE BOARD.

DIDNT HAPPEN :(

I think what you are saying Ark Royal is we got back to basics.. Well the Basics are exactly that. Move the ball forward whilst controlling the ball and the game.
Not sure about the going back and taking a kick after a mark as at time better to play on but see your point.. Just control the game and keep possession by slowing the game down and working your WAY UP FIELD! ..

Funny last week we did that... This week we didnt. Why such a change in the Match plan... ????

cardy: I agree. You ask a very good question too. The back Hand ball annoys me a lot, because sometimes, after three of them in a row they have gone back fifty metres. I dislike it because it encourages players not to take on the opposition, which is the essence of the game.

Just got home from O/S and after hearing about last weeks excellent effort I was really geared up to see the boys take it to em today
BUGGA
I can see where the choking brand might be applied given the seriousness of todays game to finals aspirations , but personally I would only apply that if the game today was played so differently to those before - sadly not the case, we instead returned to the way we have played throughout the year
Goodness me - the out on the fulls were embarrassing,
where's the chance/risk taking gone
I could go on but I wont.... neither will I commend those that stood up today, I don't need to...they were the ones gutted and sitting or laying down at games end.

Yep some gave their all today and knowing the WP players they most probably all did.

It is a loss that hurt because of basic mistakes that should not of happened.

I cant work out what is happening in the development of the players either.
We have reserves coming up get a game or 2 and then dumped. A few I can think of are Thrum,Batterham, Lynch (top poss in Foxtel),Manzone,Marusic, McPhee and a couple more who deserve a chance from Reserves being Money,McNamara,Embley and especially King who got the play of the day off me in Defence when He sprinted and prevented a goal through a tackle that no one could of imagined.

We have a couple who have come up to League side lately and from what I saw tried hard today and last week and deserved a pat on the back for efforts. New blood that is adding a spark to the game being Mitch Alexander, Luke Meadows, Braydon Antonio , Kris Shannon, Mitch Van Berlo and to a lesser degree of late Seva Martin.
All these guys bring a new approach into our team and bust their guts.

IT IS TIME Bill stopped playing favourites and to now elevate a couple more of the players mentioned above. I would enjoy seeing the these players get a feel for League footy and nothing to lose and plenty to gain. They could be better for the runs leading into the Finals series in the Reserves Comp as well.

Hopefully the selection committee will see the wisdom in elevating the above mentioned who have not had a league game and the others who have proved themselves as capable yet got dropped.

Not suggesting all the players come up in one week but over the next 3 games players be given a run in the top side in one or all of the games.

totally agree with all comments.
Was a very disappointing result. Wasn't able to get there but watch a fair bit on the ABC.
To only kick 7 goals on a day like yesterday was a disgrace. Peake just about kicked as many goals as we did.
Too many turnovers, too many short kicks, not hitting the targets, too many out of bounds on the full, going down the wings too often instead of straight down the middle.

Either the game plan is wrong or the boys dont understand it. They should have taken the game on instead of fiddling around.
Even Darren Harris on the ABC said he was very disappointed the way they played and there skill levels.
Why have we dropped off so quick. Last year we were one of the most skillful teams going around. We need a power forward. I also think Bill needs to stop playing favorites. I think its a bit late now because the ressies need all there quailty players.
