Some articles from the West... today... Thanks Steve

au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/afl/a/24...-angry-falcons-unit/

ROYALS TIP ANGRY WP EFFORT - FULL article above

In part

West Perth youngsters Mitch van Berlo and Max Alexander will make their league debuts.

Both have made senior appearances in the Foxtel Cup, but have been restricted to reserves football over the past three seasons.

"We know that West Perth will be stung and they will come out firing. We're very wary of that …""East Perth wingman *Freddie Clutterbuck *

au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/afl/a/24...l-could-go-top-five/

WAFL COULD GO TOP 5.. Full article above. My thoughts not a good idea. Just an oppurtunity to make more money as 5th team out of 9 not really a good option

In part

WAFL clubs are preparing to vote on whether to introduce a top-five format for next year's finals series, with a majority believed to be in favour of the latest shake-up to the competition.

Chief executives from the nine clubs will vote on the change in the first week of September, with the WA Football Commission willing to give boards until then to reach a final position.

A vote about three years ago narrowly fell in favour of retaining the status quo, with a 5-4 verdict going against the change.

DARREN HARRIS HAS NO TIME FOR FULL TIME COACHING

Full article at
au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/afl/a/24...o-time-for-coaching/

In part

West Perth premiership coach Darren Harris has ruled himself out of filling the vacant positions at the helm of WAFL clubs Perth and South Fremantle for next season.

The Simpson medallist and former Carlton development coach said he would not be applying for either of the two available senior coaching positions at a time when a dual West Coast premiership player is weighing up putting his name in the ring.

It is believed former Peel and Subiaco coach Chris Waterman is considering applying for the Perth job.

The Demons and Bulldogs are fighting to secure the best available coach on the market, with the clubs having to replace Damien McMahon and Paul Hasleby respectively for 2015.

As i have said a few times on this site, the way we have gone this year it amazes me, that Embley has not got a chance in the league side.

Agree Frank.. NEXT week against his hold club. Usually lifts a player as well. What do we have to lose by giving these blokes a go?
Come on Bill give the guy a chance as has played well all season

what a good gutsy effort from the boys. Seventeen players played on Tuesday and six first game players. piss poor performance from the regals filth and a piss poor performance from the umpires in the first half. oh and btw, what a piss poor ground to play on, so mr Dorrington, where is the centre of excellence that you promised, they had to pump out the dugouts. also what a piss poor turnout from the filth supporters, all one hundred of them, fifty of them forgot to put their teeth in and the other fifty couldn't come with a decent comeback during the banter and what a piss poor score board, centre of excellence my arse. and how piss poor was wellingham, limped off my arse, he wants to be right for next week eagles game. very proud of the boys today.

Yes very pleasing to see this once great club kick 2 goals in a match. Big improvement from Tuesdays national embarrassment of 1 goal.

Its probably a given that you've taken the mantle from Peel as the basket case of the WAFL.

Only a matter of time now before the name change as the membership mix of South Africans and Pommes increases.

Very sad period for the club. I feel for the few supporters still following this once great club.

Life not exciting enough for you clear- view? Perhaps even you are getting bored with your so called WAFL team winning now you want to stir up the West Perth supporters. Well you may well succeed but they have one advantage over you in that they still have a legitimate club to support.

Good call Mikeh,

I was not that worried today about this loss against wet toast full of AFL players.

But was very Happy with the rezies keeping the filth to only 1 goal whilst we banged on 9, that is the real East Perth right there.

You said it all Screemar. What a disgrace that oval? was..1 umpire met the wrath of the Phil and Judgey doing the ABC commentary.. Dark haired guy.

All up not a bad effort by the guys comming back from a 3 day break to play a game of Water Polo. There legs must of been screaming during the game and they all deserve a pat on the back. Missed Striker and Kody :(
BOG Kerr that guy was incredible.
Stats should be interesting on this game because it would of been a statisticians Nightmare and it would of been impossible to come up with reliable stats

Well DONE to the Colts and Reserves... :)

Enjoyed listening to The ABC TV guys and they came out with some Gems today.
Phil Lamb especially.. Who said they will now have to call the oval
MUDDY BANK :) Not MediBank

Also wet myself when the ball went into a big puddle and they said the Player obviously didnt read the SPLASH...

Gunna miss my ABC..

Oh well off to Joondalup next week to play the get out of Jail side SD

SEEYA THEN.

The ground just like the old days

I am by no means a supporter of West Perth; however, it must be stated strongly and succinctly they still have a club to support. Their opposition today is a club in name only.
