I don't think I should be sitting here justifying my comments or proving my support, however, I will do so for the sake of putting things into perspective.
Since 1965 I have supported West Perth although at 8 years of age was too young to attend games. In '69 I started going to Leedeville and through thick and thin I have been there.
During the 'drought' of '75 to '95, I was there, putting in as a trainer, time keeper, interchange steward or grandstand security and many other positions, all unpaid. As a trainer this meant 3 night per week plus Sunday mornings. Saturdays were all 3 games, both Home AND Away.
Wooden spoons and Premierships, highs and lows, I was there. I've seen players come from Colts to VFL/AFL to retirement and return as coaches.
I have been there to share in the joys of winning and the heartache of losing.
My passion for the Club eventually cost me a wife and 2 children, not to mention enough money to pay for a house and car.
If you are reading this and can't or won't understand the passion, then perhaps I am not the one that should move on.
Those that know me, know that while I may be the first in line to criticise, I am also first in line to commend.
My only concession is that perhaps my passion puts too high an expectation on the teams and maybe the Club as a whole. There are a lot of folks out there that feel and think the way I do yet won't put their comments up for fear of upsetting the sensitivities of others.
Age, travelling 2&1/2 hours on home game days, plus the way the AFL is destroying the WAFL competition, brings me ever closer to giving the game away as a whole. I will see out 2014 and then assess over summer.

Not sure what is going on here, have you been kicked out of the club CF?

All WAFL clubs need as many volunteers they can get.

Sorry - my bad - should have explained why I wrote this.

Seems to me that a certain crop of people believe that I am too negative in my comments regarding the performance of the West Perth League side this season, in particular after the game against Tasmania in the Foxtel Cup where I asked the question "were we that good or were Tasmania that bad"

After the Foxtel Grand Final I stated how embarrassing it was and basically got told to F**k off as I was not a real supporter and was being too negative.

As it happens, 6MM radio station in Mandurah says "West Perth were HUMILIATED by kicking only 1 goal 2, being defeated by 63 points" and "West Perth suffered HUMILIATION at the hands of Williamstown in the Foxtel Cup Grand Final". THESE comments from what is virtually a COUNTRY radio station that NEVER concerns itself with WAFL and this was the FIRST EVER mention of the Foxtel Cup.

Look I follow WP, to a degree, but if a team needs to be taken to task, then it should be done. In saying that CF, I think you wrote straight after the game with plenty of emotion and may have gone over the top a bit.

Lesson I learnt early on in Coaching, don't engage into gear straight after a match until you have had a little bit of a think about it, and let the adrelaline subside.

20+ hours after the match, I still think WP were insipid

Hey Cardinal forever dont let it get to you mate. This is a bulletin board where people are welcome to give their opinions. That is what it is all about.
If we all agreed to agree we wouldnt have a bulletin board :( and other peoples opinions are welcome. Ok you will get slagged and sniped but that is the way it goes and usually the people doing the sniping are one line wonders who do it because they can. Best policy with them is to move past them and continue on.
Dont lose sleep over it and become paranoid because it achieves nothing and the Topic on here will usually disappear into the nether in a few days.
Just enjoy your footy and follow the club.
The Foxtel cup game was a dud and shit happens. Ask EP about last years Grand Final :) We won games to get to the Foxtel GF and that along with the 40k that was an achievement considering our WAFL season. B)

Firstly - I give you my sorrow on hearing the cost of your support to the club (missus & kids)
That is a harsh penalty by any means

Secondly , anything that emanates from a drug , crime & unemployment riddled town like THAT place isn't worth rat soiled toilet paper mate

Lastly , the Foxtel Cup isn't what you would base anything upon let alone your reputation

Rock on brother

Totally agree. Swans won the 2010 GF, and were really flat come 2011. We lost in the opening round of the Foxtel cup to Williamstown - no big deal.

This season most predicted the wooden spoon for the ducks, but its been far from.

Dare I say it, there may be a little Cardies, Demons, Sharks, Dogs, Tigers, Swans, Lions supporter in all of us. We all wanted and need a competitive Falcons side.

The red and blue will bounce back.

I don't think anyone can knock someone who actively comes on here to post in support of a WAFL club as not being a true supporter in this day and age.

As others have said, the Foxtel cup is a meaningless competition. Williamstown players had more to prove on the day (150 years old, 35 new players and recently non-AFL affiliated) and they are a class side, no more than the Falcons on their day.
