Good man for the job... x West today





West Perth president Brett Raponi will take over the lead role for one of the WAFL's most pro-active bodies later this month.

Haydn Raitt will step down from the position of chairman with the WAFL council of presidents at a meeting on February 24, ending a three-year term.

Raponi, who is one of the league's longest-serving current presidents, will be Raitt's replacement. The Falcons official said the WAFL was entering one of the most important phases in the competition's history, with the AFL-alignment model being introduced this year.

"It's the third change now in 24 years and we have to find ways to adapt to it," he said.

Hopefully Raponi will represent all WAFL followers and keep the comp's best interests in mind. He seems like a passionate WAFL man imo should do a good job. I've known Haydn Raitt for almost 40 years after playing footy with him at CBC and he's a top bloke but don't think he did the WAFL any favours during his time as chairman of presidents.
