Ken Judge a legend in his own teacup. Judge is certainly not the Judge of WAFL coaches. He of course is welcome to his opinion. As am I.

Bills record over the Last 4 years is 4,5,2,5 Now thats not the worst I have see with 2 lots of finals and 3 including this year. So many factors to be taken into account including 2 of those years with huge injury problems.

I got asked by a couple what I thought and my comment was hey give the guy a break how can you judge him on games that that have not even been played and good effort to get 2nd on Ladder this year. HOW COULD YOU NO RENEW HIS CONTRACT?

Cla have been dominent over all clubs in his time at WP and if we are going to get rid of him I suppose the other 8 clubs will have to get rid of their coaches.
All I ask is that people be fair. Ok we could lose Sunday and then in the Prelim but so what the club and players will do their best.
Sick hearing the bullshit about straight sets
WP have a big task in hand and I am the first to admit that but I will not get ahead of myself and say we havent got a chance.
It is all hypothetical at this stage so lets wait and see.. Great to be playing finals :) and getting the extra games.

I just hope if we lose the 2nd Semi and Prelim supporters dont come out baying for blood. Not the way to move forward. Be happy that we have had a great season.

Finals win needed to put seal on Monaghan

West Perth must reach the grand final to justify Bill Monaghan's three-year contract extension, according to dual premiership coach Ken Judge.

Monaghan has steered West Perth to 57 wins in 103 matches over the past five seasons.

His winning percentage of 55 compares favourably with WA coaching legends Mal Brown (57 per cent), Haydn Bunton (55) and John Todd (51).

The Falcons finished fourth, fifth, third and fifth in his previous four years and will not finish lower than third this season.

West Perth lost both finals in 2011 and the first semifinal in Monaghan's first year in 2009.

Now lets have a look at Mr Judges record as a coach in the AFL :(

He was unsuccessful during his time there, with West Coast finished 13th and 14th before he was sacked and replaced by John Worsfold.

Ken Judge took EF to premierships in 92 and 94 in the WAFL.

I wouldnt get too worked up over that article cardy
I actually like Ken Judge on the radio & tv. I always find he is not a fence sitter. what you get is what you see . At least he has a passion for the wafl unlike some who have abandoned the wafl .
WP have obviously got faith in Monaghan, and alot of great coaches have not had premiership success. everyone raves about ross lyon, yet he is yet to taste a flag. however he may do so very soon but flags are damn hard to win.

i thought Kevin Worthington was one of the best coaches we had, but he never got a flag though he got close. his addresses to the players at times were so inspiring it made a raw young rookie instantly realise that they were in the side to deliver. not bide time on his watch . "that is what the seconds are there for", as he would say. his effect weeded out the weak, it was enjoyable to watch back then. one speech i heard him say was just amazing at EF oval one day. but that story is for another time.

Dont mind listening to him myself and if you read the article it does kinda go around in cirlces. Media Hype. Judge is just having his say and giving his opinion on something he is wrong about IMO. That inspired me to have a Dig at the article.
Lets remember it is mainstream media (here in the West anyway) and people will believe what they read especially comming from him. That is why I bought up his AFL win/loss percentage.

Yeh I know early in the week and gotta keep the board ticking over :)

Cardy with all due respect, the coach would want to make a grand final this year minimum! With the retirements of Tsalikis, Hunt, Pettigrew & possibly Salacic culminating in the loss of Hutchings & Mellington its really now or wait another 5 years.

Agree Falcon Strike would love to leave the WAFL as we know it with a GF or even a GF appearance and now is the time to do it. We have a lot of good players comming through but the outs you mention will be hard to replace :( Slick is no guarantee of leaving as he is considering his options when I spoke to him last week.

What makes footy so good though is you can never really pick a winner in anygame (oh well the odd exception in the AFL Fantasy league) bit in the WAFL a bit harder as has been shown this year. Now we have 4 of the top performers in the finals (Pity EF wasnt there as it would of been even better) so we really are only guessing as to the results. Dont your agree?
Now my point is WP could go out after 2 games and that would be the sad reality but that is Footy.

Me I am positive we will get to the GF possibly after a win this week.
Could be up against CLA for a second time in the GF? EP with there ins from EAGLES could just clean us all up. :(

All hypothetical but we will have fun talking about it ;)

One thing is certain this Saturday and that is we will have a change of government!

He's only stirring and getting a story going just to fill his column - Anyway any story on the WAFL is good - any news is good news and promotes our game - I wouldn't be knocking him Cardy at least he's talking about our great comp ???

So Judge is stirring..Just filling in a column you say?
Dont think so he is definitely not stirring but trying to show he is an expert.. Far from it.
So why doesnt he talk about the AFL clubs coaches being Dawson and Cam Shepherd at EP and Peel?
Lets not forget these two coaches had to BE APPROVED by the respective AFL clubs to get the position! So basically it says the AFL clubs actually appoint the COACH they want.
At Least Bill was given the contract the WPFC who are not influenced or the Lackeys of the 2 AFL clubs..
He is not talking about our Great comp Chopper he is running it down.. I suspect Judge is just another journo who TOWS THE AFL line.
If this article is the best he can do to SUPPORT the WAFL I pity the WAFL..

Billy is doing just fine and he deserves to be the coach for sometime to come, WP are second to Claremont and at the moment in the WAFL that is a pretty good result.

As for Judge he is like most experts, those who can, do, those who can't, teach (or in his case attempt to be a critic or commentator [just like commetti] )
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Decision made so without a sacking in the next couple of years we are stuck with it. Having said that though cant see a problem. Ok I was looking at Harrow but Bill doesnt deserve to be dropped when we got to 2nd. Considering CLA lost 3 games in the year they are the benchmark. Running 2nd is about the best ANY CLUB could of done this year.

Would of been pretty pathetic if the Committee said ok mate get us the GF or at least be in it before we make a decision!

Unfortunately the Alignment is going to make a huge difference to the competition next year with EF losing 15 AFL players off their list(many who have come through their club) and CLA 8.. (Not many of these players actually played for CLA in 2013 except for maybe Silvangi)
Perth will lose around 9 possibilities, SF 3, Subi 4,SD 4,

WP will lose Hutchings,Darling,Lecras,Bradley, Hill, Mellington.

Ok except you dont have all those players but if they drop back you do.
Instead EP and Peel will have the total non players excepting injured to play for them..

Some say the 2 aligned teams will not be strong due to inconsistency in sides etc etc but I do not agree as the players who are with the WAFL sides will perform well so they can get back to AFL Side.. Just my opinion.

Will have to wait and see how it pans out.
CLA will still be a strong side as most of their better players are not Listed.
WP will be up there as we are improving but we will have some experienced players retiring this year.

Heres a full list from this year.. From Bouncedown magazine.
