As reported in this morning’s paper, this game is a turning point for the Falcons. Blacks 250th makes this a special day for the Falcons but milestone games have not been all that flash for us. Sunday’s game is a must win against Swans. We have gone from one of the best defensive teams to one of the worst, injuries have hurt us so we have to change the team every week, that was harros comment reported in the West, fair comment. All three grades made the GF last year, that tells me we have depth so what has happened to the spark. Anyway, great to have a chat with Bailey Thompson, from Bundoora, he is over the planta fasciitis injury and raring to go.

Winger I suppose the only good side effect of the injury list is that we have promoted some of the younger guys from last year especially from the colts and some of the reserves.Guys like Sprigg,Scurria,Dixon,Todd and now a couple of debutants tomorrow in Bevan and Robis will have a taste of what it's like and will be the players we will look to going forward.I don't think we should expect too much in a hurry but all these guys have talent and we need to balance their progress with the more experienced guys who still have a few seasons left in them.Subi have done that well and are reaping the rewards this season.We were touted as an "experienced"side last year(another way of saying we had some older players) and that was true in that we had that sweet spot of number of games played over a big number of players.It worked out well for us.But you can't stand still and with probably 6 or 7 players likely going over the next couple of years blooding these younger players now can only be beneficial.It also leaves us in the premiership window for the next few years.

for the most part I was waiting for West Perth to spring to life and get in front - but Swan Districts kept kicking important goals and I think the first quarter was big
Think Black might be looking at a couple of weeks for that punch in the 2nd qtr too

You've summed it up pretty well Winger.We have one more chance if we come back after the bye firing on all cylinders.Problem is that we probably need to win 6 out of 7 to get into the finals.Don't like our chances as 4 of those games are against top 5 sides.You never know.
