GF day could be a huge day for West Perth. There currently on top of the ladder in the League,Ressies and Colts.
Having a great season at all levels ,apart from Wafl W where there bottom of the ladder.
Going to have a look on Ricks site.Has a Wafl side ever won all 3 grades on GF day.A chance if it's at Joondalup.

GTR Subi did it in 2018 I think it was.

If it ends up at Joondalup, we can’t complain about not being a neutral venue if WP make it.  2020 was not neutral and Subi lived in non neutral GFs.
If the Sharks make the GF, which looks quite unlikely atm, I’ll go if I can get a ticket.  If not, I won’t bother….although if I do go, I could drop in to my mates place in Geraldton for a barbie after the game!!!

58 all the Subi flags this century have been won on neutral grounds, Subi moved to leederville in 2001 I think, so anything after that was on neutral territory. We lost 2 flags to Peelmantle in 116 & 17 and they effectively had home ground advantage given their 15 or 16 Listed players. I think Joondy will have a bigger home ground advantage for WP if played there than SF had at Freo as the conditions up their are quite unique compared to most other grounds as its so exposed, but thats thee WAFL world we live in.

As bad as the GF was at Fremantle Oval in 2020 for spectator comfort it will be nothing on Joondalup if it is given another kiss on the pecker by the WAFC and handed this years WAFL GF.
There is almost next to no cover at Joondalup if it either rains and or is a warm sunny day, at least at Fremantle there is the old Victoria Stand, the shelter behind the goals, the Dockers old HQ and the trees on the Jail side to provide some shade/shelter!

Yes the colts game where the umps missed the free kick for too many in the backline, not sure of the rule??  in the last qtr?
But one free kick doesn't make a game.

Pretty sure it wasn't a rule but it was an agreement between coaches which Wardman forgot about in the heat of the moment. Not sure if the umpires could have intervened with a warning like they do now for the 6-6-6.

Jack Mayo talked about the 2018 Colts GF incident in the latest ‘Locks Mayo’ podcast. In the frantic last minutes of the game he was told to go into the ruck. Which confused him as he had never played there. He went into the middle to find already 4 players there. He decided to bolt out of the centre square as quick as he could and that’s where he ended up (in the backline). He said the coaches box were screaming at him 😂. Never was a decision by the coaching staff, that’s his version anyway. A good story.

No reason to disbelieve Jack, he was there, it wasn't the deciding factor, Swans won the frees 18 to 15, but the reason they lost was they didn't take advantage of their inside 50's dominance 52 to 36. They created so many opportunities but couldn't convert enough of them to win, but it was a great game between 2 highly skilled young teams.
