We've already got the best playing surface in the WAFL and the face lift of the outer has been impressive. Not sure if our operating costs have been reduced but you would think that would be the case. I see many more benefits moving forward provided the club is well managed to take advantage of new opportunities going forward with new facilities.

The Eagles will have their own reserves side so I don't see any threat of an alignment, by having their own reserves side they have full control without any complaints by a WAFL affiliate. Win win.

Spot on DD, your club has done a good job working in with TVP & WCE to ensure a secure future at Lathlain. There are always those with envious eyes that will bag a club that makes the most of an advantage.

Thanks Senior, I think due to our home ground location and the location of our new state football stadium we have landed in a fortunate situation where we find ourselves sharing our ground with one of the AFL clubs. I think that can only be a positive thing in helping us sustain our own future.

There are opportunities once you have refurbished your premises to do something like Subi did and develop packages for AFL games with pre & post game packages at Lathlain and just a couple of train stops to the Stadium. Not as convenient as we had with our old clubrooms at Subi oval but still something to consider.

You are spot on SS. There will be many opportunities for PFC to pursue and capitalise on and I'm sure that future planning is already well under way.
Our new premises are still 2-3 years away. Some of the funding is in place but more has still to be finalised. Once the bulldozers come in and construction commences planning should be well advanced and ready to turn some of those opportunities into reality.
Exciting times ahead at Mineral Resources Park.

I too am excited, but then always am about PFC. Just saying please never trust wce or AFL. Hocking and nisbet said no afl ressies cos too expensive, other priorities. None of them said no ressies cos could affect second tier comps. Dont ever think they care about us cos they so don't.

STT, you appear a little obsessed about WCE encouraging Hungry Jacks or other sponsors to have a presence in the precinct. Why ? IMO they would be like any other business wanting to locate into the precinct which is going to happen and should be encouraged.
With respect, I don't think that you fully understand exactly what the precinct really is. It will be a community based precinct. There are three separate components. There is the WCE area and the PFC area. The third component is the Commercial area which is external to the other two. So, HJ or any other businesses will not impinge upon PFC. The club's interests will be preserved.
So, if you are up in the grandstand watching the Dees demolish the opposition and you are yearning for a hamburger and decide you want a "whopper" you will have to exit the ground and go and find HJ wherever they are. You will probably miss a couple of home side goals in the process.
Methinks it would be smarter to use the food outlets provided by the club within the ground. Smarter too because you will be able to find a nice cold beer to wash the burger down and, importantly, you will be supporting the club..

I could have swore I saw a sign up last week saying HJ's and 7/11 coming soon at the corner of Orrong Rd & Archer St lights where the old IGA used to be, that is only a km or so away from Lathlain Park!

That's old news and been a plan in the making for at least a year. Can't see what that's got to do with the Eagles moving their base to Lathlain.

Have you not read some of the previous posts in this thread around the topic of WCE & one of their major sponsors potentially cozying up at Lathlain Park with a food outlet?!
That might be why I brought it up on here but it would seem highly unlikely with one of their new food stores being built just up the road!

Umm Smoke, never said anything about hjs. My point is if we get too cosy there may very well come a time where wce don't you want their own team anymore and everyone will just say it 'makes sense' for PFC and wce to join up. How can I put this any clearer than never ever ever ever trust AFL or an AFL club if you love your WAFL club.
