DF I think that there are too many people with little idea what the Lathlain Park precinct will look like when the total development is completed.
We are not talking about a little WAFL ground. The precinct is going to incorporate a fair bit of commercial development and Hungry Jacks amongst others may well have a presence somewhere but it wont be anywhere near the new PFC facilities to have any significant impact..
I would add that Hungry Jacks may be more concerned about what PFC is doing and what impact it may have on their enterprise than we will be of them.

Guys I reckon we need to be very vigilant about deals, arrangements with wce. Them having their own side is this year's fashion. It could change at any time. New prez was pro alignment pretty sure. And wce have a habit of getting what they want.

STT, I don't think that Bob Shields is in anyway pro alignment or pro merger.
In his pre-election pitches he made it pretty clear that the 120 years tradition of the Perth Football Club. must be protected.
In an email to members he stated "as President I will rebuild the strength of PFC on and off the field. I have no intention of PFC being merged with the Eagles."
As for an alignment, the Eagles no longer need that form of arrangement as they now have their own team in the WAFL comp.

Smokey,
Whether yo like it or not, the Eagles now control the precinct, hence they were able to have the whole area name change, not just their Rooms and Oval. The fact that they gave you a portion ($70k ) of the sponsorship to appease you bears testament to that.
PFC will continue to benefit in a good way from the Eagles control of the precinct, but alas you will have to go along with what they want. That is not a merger or takeover. It is similar to leasing a shop a centre where the anchor tenants are Coles or Woolworths. The owners of the shopping centre will fall over backwards to look after them and the rest of the tenants just have to go along with it.

WCE do not control the precinct. It is the Town of Victoria Park who call the shots on the precinct as a whole.
Yes, the Eagles' presence has resulted in benefits for PFC that may not otherwise been attainable eg improved lighting that will allow night games and the $70k share of the ground sponsorship and the rebuilding of the club's facilities.
It is a three way partnership between TVP, WCE and PFC and each are committed to the transition and future success of the precinct as well as respecting and preserving the individual rights and interests of each of the stakeholders.

The Eagles have a 60 year lease. In the longer run it will come down to how loyal Vic Park council will be to its local club,

And the PFC lease is for ??????? Any suggestion?

I suggest that in the longer run the bigger threat to PFC is the Commission not the Council.

Boys I think some might be envious of the immediate and long term benefits of the Eagles becoming co tenants of Lathlain Park with the Demons. We've already got the best playing surface in the WAFL and the face lift of the outer has been impressive. Not sure if our operating costs have been reduced but you would think that would be the case. I see many more benefits moving forward provided the club is well managed to take advantage of new opportunities going forward with new facilities.

The Eagles will have their own reserves side so I don't see any threat of an alignment, by having their own reserves side they have full control without any complaints by a WAFL affiliate. Win win.

Spot on DD, your club has done a good job working in with TVP & WCE to ensure a secure future at Lathlain. There are always those with envious eyes that will bag a club that makes the most of an advantage.
