Please give us that report.Be most interesting what is said.Wonder if Percy will get a mention as part of a Rebuttal for The Club's Critics.

And when your League earns Yet Another Wooden Spoon,or sneaks a Hollow 8th,exactly how does any Club Defy it's Critics?:woohoo:

President didn't speak for that long as he left that to Earl who managed to come in and speak to a very healthy lunch crowd of about 160-180 people.

To sum up Earl he basically said that they didn't want to make any excuses as to why they have finished where they have but did allude to the fact that injuries to key players such as Brandt Colledge (Hamstring) and Michael Sinclair (Achilles) who have battled through these injuries all season hasn't helped our cause.

In my opinion this is something the club needs to seriously look at. I don't think Earl has ever had the chance to field his best 22 on the field in the 60 games he's been in charge for or at least come close to fielding his best side. The club must look at why this keeps occurring and try to rectify that for next season and beyond. A club like ours can't afford to be missing too much key personnel.

One positive he said to come out of the season was the exposure to league football that the younger players got. He mentioned players like Corey Byrne and Cody Ninyette who showed good development signs as the season went on. Obviously Ninja lived up to that billing with a fantastic game.

On the recruiting front he said that it is important to try and get our home grown players that get delisted from the AFL back to our club and also spoke about the need to try and find some ruck support for Eyresy. Also said they will be trying to look for a key defender and tall forward.

Players realising their potential and coaching staff getting the most out of the players has been one of our problems LB for a very long time.

This has gone hand in hand with our zone. Yes it may not be as fruitful as others but as a club can they sit back and say they have gotten everything and more out of the zone that they have been allocated over the last 20 years. I think the answer to that would be no.

Here's a list of possibles.

Mzungu
McInnes
Tunbridge
Wellingham
Conca
Johnson?

Out of that list I think that Mzungu would be the best chance of returning to the Demons in 2018.

Both Reece Conca and Dean Kent are contracted until the end of 2018 at their respective clubs.

McInnes although I think he would fit in very nicely at Lathlain I can't see why he would come back here when he could go and work with family members at East Fremantle.

Tunbridge played his first league game against us on the weekend and did a hamstring. Just can't seem to get his body right which has seen him play only 16 games in three seasons. When he did play for us a couple of years ago he played deep forward. Every time he played I thought he seemed to straighten us up when we went forward. Could he reprise this role? Just leave him in the forward 50.

Wellingham I think could either go around with the Eagles on a one year deal or might even get a shot on a rookie list elsewhere.

With regards to Michael Johnson I have watched him closely this season and he looks like someone who has gotten every last bit out of himself and just can't give any more. If Alex Pearce was fit I don't think Johnson would be playing.

On a side note the Dockers for some reason don't like playing Sam Collins. If they did delist him he would be someone I would be putting at the top of my priority list.

You have to make the Club an attractive proposition if you want those AFL delisted players to return there. This stems from the very top down. This is the real issue that needs to be addressed first

Absolutely correct Astro. We must make this club super attractive to recruits and returning players as well as to members and supporters.
And while we talk about likely players returning from AFL let us not forget Sam Butler. He is a Demon in every sense and if he wants to play on in WAFL then it must be at Perth.

We also have to look how long we will have these players. I often wonder what is the point of offering players like C. Jones, L. Davis, C. Bateman larger contracts only to have them for one, two or sometimes 3 years. The same can now be said for chasing Tendai. Wouldn't we be better off chasing more players that didn't quite make AFL level but potentially be stars at WAFL level and have 5+ years out of them?

That's true some give great value while others just come back and give little no one can question Clint Jones output and he's got another year in his contract. I think if he sees substantial improvement next year he might go around another couple of years. If we just drift through another season of disappointment he will put his running shoes on and run for the hills.

Tendai is a great Perth success and he will bring great value on and off the field. There are no Brennan's playing for EF so not sure there would be any strong reason for McInness to go there and Wiley is an uncle by being Michael Brennan's brother in law from memory and McInness is a cousin of the Brennan's.

I think that's it for Jones DD. He had a 2 year contract and I heard he will decide whether to go around again depending on the recruiting. Trop has another year apparently.

LOL....apologies Smokey.....yeah I knew the connection between McInness and Wiley.....Jacob Brennan is an assistant coach at EF , Michael Brennan is on the board at EF and Wiley is coach....thus can see why folk here might think McInnes might go to EF if delisted....still think you guys will be sweet.....McInnes and White up front with Ninyette yapping at their heels will be a great sight for Perth fans......still Subi to worry about me thinks.....
