Froggy what you saw today was the Demons of the past 3 decades.Until this club gets fair dinkum about winning a flag we will get nowhere. If you throw in Mgunzu,Smith,Dene White,Angus Graham or like for like replacements and the result is different, very ordinary recruiting for a team that finished 8th last season this type of result is no surprise.Really you finish bottom 2 again last season and you tell me how have we boosted our squad for 2017,you don't have to be a footy guru to realize we are a weaker team than last season.

I tried listening to the game today and thought Johnny Cash and Tammy Winette were playing ok early on. Anyone know why there was no broadcast? Watching the game on 7 Maaaaate. Bugger me if Perth aren't better than these two teams on display, there is no hope. Worst most boring half of footy I think I've ever seen. Mowed my lawn today. I might just go and sit out the back and watch it regrow instead of watching the second half. Also just noticed 27-8 frees today in favour of swans. Any comments from anyone at the game?

I wonder if Footscray observers commented in a similar way to some of the angry people on here. The Dees will come good.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

I watched the game and didn't pick up on any obvious umpiring bias. I am sure I would have noticed if there was.

Gee it's a bit easy to unleash after the result. Had we scored 13 more points we win the game and the players are heralded for defeating a side blessed with AFL experience.

Just look through the list of each side, Swans a side full of experience, Perth a list of no names including probably half a dozen making their league debut. Sure we got overrun but we didn't get slaughtered and the players DID NOT embarrass themselves or the club.

It's round one and Earl Spalding has sent a message to more experienced players that played in the magoos today. You have to earn your spot.

Several of the debutantes showed some wizardry and composure. And when Swans challenged in the first quarter our boys responded.

I went to the game not knowing what to expect but while I came away disappointed with the result overall I was positively surprised with what I saw. I thought a few senior players were a little disappointing, McKenna hardly raised a sweat and Troppy had a very quiet day before coming off injured in the 3rd qtr.

Spencer White should be dominating and imposing himself in the air. Jonesy and Sinclair can hold their heads high, Ninyett, Byrne, Narrier and Roe all very exciting talent and will give the opposition a few headaches this season.

If If if... we didn't and we had one good quarter. Good on ya DD for supporting the cause but the fact is we kicked 3 goals after quarter time against a very ordinary side in my opinion, the question is who are we going to beat? While I support the kids it would be nice to win a game when you dominate like we did in the first quarter.

I think I out lined in one of my post all accolades should go to the young talent, but the club isn't interested in going forward sending these colts to the slaughter , as Froggy mentioned Swans were and are pretty ordinary I don't buy this rebuilding crap seems the same line trotted out year after year, let's not kid out selves this report coming out in a couple of weeks will have serious consequences for Perth if the WAFC want to revamp the comp I can see them turfing Perth out because we are a nothing club and have been for years.

Other positives I saw was a solid return to the Demons by Brandt College and other new faces I thought acquitted themselves quite well were Giblet and McFarlane. Other debutantes to show they are the future going forward are Gooch
, Scotney and Johnson. These young guys will find themselves in and out of the side I just hope they put in the hard work required and don't lose interest and take the easy route and go and play with their mates in the ammos like so many have done in the past.

I think you are being a bit dramatic PN, it's round one no need to jump to conclusions. It is what it is I don't see what good it does. Our reserves had a good win, I didn't see any of it but there were a few good signs there I am told.
