Who made you so negative Grassy? It's like you havent been around the club in the last 30 years. We get punched down and we get up and fight on. We have ups and downs. More downs of course. Just think you could be a Liverpool supporter. Or worse support Essendon.

I suspect "had enough of footy" is the polite thing to say when you quit on the eve of round 1.

Let's see what the clubs response is re our sub standard ruck stocks wthin the club, I bet they will "go with what they have got".

A less than productive recruiting campaign this off season just about guarantees he won't be replaced.

Are we a club who's mantra is pure survival or do we have someone in a suit that strives for success and yearns for a flag sometime this century.

If it is because he has had enough of football then this is my take on it.

Why wait until now. Not saying the club would have found a replacement but at least they would have had plenty of notice to try and find a replacement.

Secondly as far as I understand, Angus didn't have a lot of job prospects before he came to Perth. The club got him an apprenticeship I believe, hence the three year deal instead of the stock standard one or two year deals.

I'll still wait for official confirmation from the club but that's just my little take on it at the moment until I get all the information.

The bottom line Mr AFL is you rarely see this happening at other WAFL clubs.

First Clem Smith now Graham.

The fact that we are perennial cellar dwellers makes the late decision making for these players to quit much easier.

I think the honest opinion around the club must be that we've stayed still recruitment wise and other clubs have gone ahead. We didn't do a bad job getting 3 ex-afl players. Circumstances... yes always circumstances. We see ours more blatantly though it happens to other clubs, too. Well except Subi. Grassy there's not one person at the club I've met who doesn't want what you want. I just don't think BLAME gets you anywhere. Easy to blame the suits. Easy to say we're not supporting the coach. Easy to attack the cattle we do have. My two cents worth. Graham didn't show much. Never played a game like Garstone did last year. Yes Eyres has to now step up. Stevenson, too. But really I don't think Hraham is a big loss. Name player. Makes us feel better. But that's about all. Wolfy is a genuine loss. Smith. Not bothered really. I'm more devastated about Bell. 108 point loss can't be excused. Nothing to be said but harsh words. If no excuses is our motto then the coaches, players and board must live it. I genuinely wish we had an ex player as president sometime. Steve Turner? Someone who couldn't be dismissed as just a suit. We need the suits to, though you wouldn't know it. They have the dollars. Anyway I've heard good things about Giblett. He might be a good get yet. We'll wait and see. And Grassy say something about you played yesterday for those who couldn't get there.

When does EP alignment with the Eagles end?

The thing with Graham was he was very good at bouncedowns and stoppges,ne averaged over 35 hitouts per game.
His weakness was his overhead marking.

Like all eastern state players its fair enough to give them 1 year to acclimatize to WA conditions.
Graham with a full pre season and in his second year would have been much better imo.
Still the best ruck option we had in the club in 2016 and would have been in 2017.

Eyres and Stevenson are not lead number 1 ruckmen.
We have a fairly good midfield, who' going to feed them the ball?

Clem Smith would have been handy.
Just neded to show the talent that got him drafted in the first place.
I have no doubt in the future he will bob up at another wafl club(more than likely Peel,we like off loading our talent to them).

My opinion our losses far outweigh our ins and we still havent addressed our weaknesses from 2016,2015 etc....

We seemed to always lose when Graham was in the team last year.
Always looked better when Garstone and Stevenson were doing the ruck work.
Will also hope Matt Thompson improves on last year also. Has decent size.
Not saying Graham leaving is a good thing, but its not the end of the world.

For mine Garstone is better suited for team balance at CHF.
Yep he rucked ok when required last season but it wasnt for 20 rounds of footy.
Imo we are going down the path (once again ) of robbing peter tp pay paul by rucking Garstone.

Our fire power up forward is one of our biggest weaknesses having Garstone at chf will straighten us up and he can mark and kick a goal.

I reckon we're going down the path of no recruiting because we will have all the recruits we need when we align with WC, let's face it a wooden spoon is on the cards again how many supporters are going to hang around if this happens again.
