7 News broke the shock news of the passing of Demons 80's legend Wayne Ryder. Obviously way too young expect he would have been in his mid/late 50's?

Never ever seen a more dead eye dick around the goals than this magician and could take a grab. Nothing of him would have been 50kg wringing wet. Performed one of the great dynamic duos with Mick "Stinger" Rea.

Hopefully the boys can put in a big effort tomorrow to honour a Demons great. Former team mate of our current Prez Adrian Barich.

R.I.P Wayne Ryder condolences to the Ryder family.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I recall a game against East Perth when we were based at the WACA.
Think the ball went out of bounds on the full the siren went and even though Wayne wasn't the closest somehow he was awarded the kick. He driled it and we won the game.
One of my best moments as Perth supporter, he was a star and sad to see him.go at such a young age

Sad news. Exciting, exquisitely skilled player. Knew where the goals were anywhere on the field. Loved watching the bloke play.

Correct , I was there that day albeit on the other side of the ground. That was just nuts but that’s what he could do. Had a couple of nicknames one of them was Glasses (put down your glasses) and the other one was Night Ryder (aka Mad Max).

firstly - it is always bloody tough to read someone you spent a little bit of time with has made the big move
we had Malcolm Brown as a common thread (in a sort of way)
Wayne was a bloody good bloke , he had no tickets on himself and was a proud father
I hope his kids one day realise what a special talent their dad really was

Wayno - rest in peace mate , the tough days are now over

Ryder was a highly skilled player and he was exciting to watch. He and Stinger were a handful for many sides back in ‘85 and ‘86 in particular.
A sad loss.

I don’t recall seeing our players wearing black arm bands in either of the last 2 games.
Can’t the club even organise to show some respect to a past player.

Sad news.
Loved watching Wayne Ryder as a kid, he was absolutely mercurial around the goals.
From memory he kicked over 50 goals in both of his first 2 seasons of League footy, a superb effort from a small forward.
