Training on tonight. Carey in for Bird maybe? McPartland? Might be time to give Baxter Phillip a go too. He was electric last week in the 2s. 

Can we win? For sure. 

Is AJ completely out of favour with the coaching staff? Is it attitude, work rate? Surprised to see a modest performer like Bakic get picked ahead of him. There are a couple of new names in the reserves, Wheelock and Lee. Lane and Howard are back, which helps depth wise. We have an issue with depth now, with Jackson, Peletier, Hunter and R Hill? leaving for various reasons. That's on top of Stack, who it seems safe to assume is nowhere to be seen. Then there's injury - long term/season ending injuries to Browne, Dellamarta, Jones, Manzone, Paton, Ewing, Grocott and John. Fairbank not named at any level for a few weeks and nothing about Bird's injury as yet. But the squad we started the year has been decimated before the half way mark. 

Bakic to debut and Barwick the other in this week. Coniglio has covid.

Manzone snd Grocott due to return for EP game. Both trained last night. 

Bird has ligament damage, no break as first feared. Out for 5 weeks.

Regan Hill gone for good to cricket. Unfortunately.

Fairbank has a scaphoid break. 10 weeks. 

John still 4 weeks away.

And yeah, I’d say AJ isn’t favoured but he’s had an interrupted preseason with the pectoral injury. Trying to find a position for him. He’s played back, forward everywhere in ressies. 

Thanks for the update Daz. Obviously Bakic is the like for like replacement for Bird, similar size. While Bird hasn't been outstanding in any games he's played some important roles given the early season losses. Good news for him there's no break.

German obviously doesn't trust AJ enough to pick him yet but hopefully he earns a game soon.

I’m not one to complain about umpiring decisions but jeez. Now I know why they’re called the “ducks”.

These blokes in green just aren’t smart. They get sucked in by Swans players dropping and ducking and consequently getting tackled high. On two occasions, a Swans player has run into a pack, head down and actually head-butts the Perth defender then gets the free kick for a high tackle. Then time and time again, Perth players are clearly pushed in the back for a play on call. Just dumb, gullible umpiring. Phew. Now that’s off my chest, I’ll shut up and watch the rest of the game.

Yep and how was that soccer by Swans straight out of bounds that qtr not deliberate? Tackle on Sinclair didn't stick and he would have had a shot on goal. Holding the ball.
