Did anybody take a look?

Plenty of us. We’re a goal up midway through the second qtr when there was a sickening collision between two of our players. Young James Ewing who came to us from Peel came off second best and might have a season ending leg injury. Had to be carried off on a stretcher. We were down a man from then on with only 3 on the interchange. Swans seem to have had an extended bench and took players off and replaced them at half time.

They had their way with us in the second half TBH and the margin probably should have been greater. We are going to need to be very patient. New coach, a lot of new players. It’s going to take time to gel. Plus we are at least 7 players off our best 22 IMO who were not available last night. There is no magic wand it’s going to take time. But we won all 3 other grades so there is some upside.

I’m tipping Dakota Baldwin-Wright to have a breakout season. Stacky and Clarke played well in the reserves as you would expect.

Pleasing to see the development of 2 Dads. I also had Oscar Bird in that category. 

Nice to see Coniglio back in the good books. He seemed a little on the outer last year. I think he’s a very good footballer. 

Of the recruits. Charlie Thompson was my stand out. 

Terrible luck for James Ewing. Now although I am not sure how well or not he was playing. He certainly attacked the contest where he was injured and the backline missed him when he went off. 

Stubbs looked strong and lively. Quartermaine dropped one he should have taken but was a presence. We actually looked a decent size up forward. Christian Martin although not taking many marks was part of that good size and presented well - opening the space up for other forwards. 

No Matt Taylor with a sore groin- but a chance to play next week. He would be the replacement for Ewing. 

Put into some context, a 26 points loss was irrelevant.
We fielded only 23 players reduced to 21 after the injuries to Ewing and Clark in the second quarter. Swans fielded 30 players. We were several first 22 players short.
A pretty even first half but Swans blew us away in 3rd quarter. As alluded to by DD it is going to be a slow process but there are some positives to take away from the game.
I agree that Two Dads is showing some positive signs. He competed well at the hit outs, kicked a couple of goals (one a ripper from a long way out) and marked strongly around the ground.
 

Thanks Satan. Can I say that back in to day ruckmen needed a few years to develop - I've always thought Two Dad;s had potentiel. I just hope we can hang on to him for a while...

Satan311 you need to stop uploading dozens of images and YouTube videos each week. This is not what this site is intended for. We allow posters to upload images and other files with limits. This site has a bandwidth limit so if everyone started doing what you are doing it would exceed the sites bandwidth limit and eventually slow it down for all users. Please don’t abuse it and spoil it for everyone else.

Oops, sorry for taking up the bandwidth with the photos. I didn’t realise that was happening and won’t post any more.

Yes that would be ok if it’s a link to YouTube or Facebook but if it’s a link to a private website as I’ve told others I’ll allow it once not posting constant updates to a third party website unless we agree to a cross promotion arrangement. I suggest it would be better if you start your own topic and use that same topic each week rather than creating new topics each week.
