Claremont lose another great player and member of the 1964 premiership side.
Was at Subi that day.
A great win by the Tigers.
What a great player Irwin was and obviously taught his kids well.
RIP Irwin.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

A premiership player and father of two premiership players, Cameron and Chris, and Clayton also played some footy at Tigerland. A regular and popular man around the club for the past 60 years. Catching up with Cluney, Grievey, Brewer and "naughty" John Rogers now and probably still talking about that day in 1964.

I was not aware that John Grieve had passed on.
A great fullback with a great drop kick, in the ilk of Ramshaw, Sarre etc

Had the pleasure to listen to Irwin speak at a Presidents lunch a few seasons ago along with some of his other 64 teammates. The passion he he spoke with about the GF, his teammates and their enduring bond was inspirational. Very humble man who was eternally grateful for the opportunities footy had given him and his boys.
