What do supporters think of the new Claremont oval development? It was my first time there yesterday and I don't like it. I think the goal posts get lost in the apartments behind at the western end of the ground and going by the earth works going on around the ground it looks like the entire oval will eventually be surrounded by apartments. That just seems bizarre. Thankfully that will never happen at Lathlain because of the second oval the Eagles use when they are due to play at the MCG. There could potentially be apartments built at our northern end but I hope not. I think it sucks.

Got to do what you have to for the cash but Claremont oval is now a soulless place.

It does suck but we’ve gotten financial security out of it which was an endless battle for us.
It’s still 18 versus 18 on the same patch of grass with a good view so that’s the way I look at it now.

That's funny - its the first time i have seen it in 3 years and I thought the atmosphere was fantastic. People all around the ground giving advice to players. Not like Lathlain where everyone is on the Western side. My Idea for Lathlain btw is to bring the bar on the hill 30 meters south (or towards Vic Park) and to put some toilet facilities and a coffee shop with some shelter on another built up hill on the other side.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

I know what you mean but for mine it feels like the game is being played in a high rise car park. Be careful what you wish for on redevelopments. Anyone heard anything about Pfc one by the way?

They are having big issues with the grass @ Claremont oval, minimal sun at the Western end.

Dont mind the new set up at tigerland, like TFF is very compact and that creates some atmosphere, if you've been to any of the SANFL or VFL grounds they are tiny with very small outers and you get the same effect. The grass is an issue they will need to address with much of the norther sun aspect blocked during autumn to spring months and of course the lack of a roof over the seating is just mind boggling but the seating is good and facilities bars etc are very good, plus unlike some norther suburbs clubs, everyone is welcome to go and spend their hard earned over the bar which helps the Tiges bottom line.
