Always annoying to lose to the private school boys, but you've got to admit they've done a good job with the new stadium. Good viewing.  Good bar. Good coffee shop. Good mural outside. Good access to the public.

One obvious criticism would be that the Claremont Football Club obviously forgot that footy is a winter sport and a roof over your grandstand as an idea has merit. I am guessing those responsible for signing off the project probably sit in those plush seats behind the glass at the top of the stand.

Agreed mate, as I have said before the Claremont Oval development should be the modern sustainable model for all WAFL clubs, , it is in scale with what are now much smaller WAFL crowds and is importantly modern and comfortable. The roof could be a little wider though.

Financially it is viable and self sustaining with rental incomes, can be maintained at a lower costs unlike bigger grounds.

For the footy club the ability to diversify its traditional income streams mainly via substantial sub-lease agreements and reduced operational costs that have been achieved with a more appropriate sized facility that caters for current WAFL crowds has been a win financially

State govt continues to enjoy stamp duty from every apartment sold and the ToC are raking in the income from rates - with their investment in the redevelopment already returned.

Now it’s a licence to print money for WA Govt and ToC and that won’t stop. Instead of the club being a financial burden on the local government, it’s a massive financial benefit to ToC.

The footy clubs in a great position to ask for future improvements to be co-funded by ToC - maybe a glass extension to the roof line might come in the future.

Yeah, and the dog shit littering the oval is an added bonus.

Spot on, Smart thinking, as a visitor its the ground I like to go to the most now, on top of that because the facilities are so modern and comfortable its the one place the Mrs likes to go to a game, she can enjoy a game and drink in comfort, so it does encourage people to get to a game.
