You still have to pay them and match/better any other deals offered to them from other WAFL clubs,just because they are returning as was Jones they still cost you,they dont play for free.

Yes that is true that players don't play for free but I was talking about nit having to pay transfer fees.

Sounds a bit like you blokes are now trying to justify the decision you made to pay the big bucks to CJ.As our friend Freez stated "sounds like money frugally well spent for the now and future!"

I have no problems with getting CJ to the club. We needed an experienced mid and we got one. Only have to look at his season for Sandringham this year to see that he is still at the top of his game.

These 3 kids aren't proven at the top level as CJ is. They wouldn't cost merely as much as CJ was asking.

win win for both clubs....SF with a forward line of Shaw, D'Olio, Johnson and Saunders have potential to kick a fair few goals, irrespective of whether Jones is in SF midfield or not....especially with Hams, Cook, Schloithe and Hockey already in there banging the ball down....Jones would only of taken a spot off Dragovich, Kelly, Pannizza, Matera or Martinez....all youngsters with 5 plus years of footy left minimum.....

Perth need a midfielder of instant impact to guide the troops and Jones fits perfectly for them in terms of quality and experience....tho Leon Davis came with experience and high hopes and quickly found things tough on the wrong side of 30......touch wood Perth get what they need from Jones.

Facts r that CJ was ready to sign with SF & Perth countered with a larger offer, that despite the clubs history with CJ, we were not prepared to pay 'overs'...

we could have (up 2 a point) put didnt for a 32 yr old when the money could have & has now been used on 3 younger players...

disappointing that CJ chose the coin over loyalty but at his stage of his career its hardly surprising or unexpected - que-sera-sera ...
