IMO he should have retired at the end of the season. He has been a champion and I know he kicked 40 odd goals this year but he never really grabbed hold of a game and dominated it in 2015. Someone had to be there to kick the goals.

Who knows maybe by managing his games and predominately keeping him at home and not sending him over to Brisbane, Launceston, Sydney, Alice Springs and some games at Etihad it might keep him fresh and he can have a bigger impact on games.

Could work out like Clark Keating did for Brisbane or by round 15 he could pull the pin.

Given AFL footy is such a brutal business I guess the determining factor would have come from the club. If Lyon et al didn't think he had a role to play and there's no benefit to the club in having him go around again then the decision would have been taken out of his hands and he would have been told it would be better for all concerned if he pulled the pin. So obviously that's not the case and the footy department think there's more positives than negatives.

Its a brutal BUSINESS is footy, there are no "deserves the right" these days, sad as it is.

Yeah he still kicked 40 odd goals though, I suspect they will manage him by playing mostly home games if they were able to nab McCarthy he might of pulled the pin.

If he kicks 30plus goals from say ten to fifteen games he's done his job.

Not if mistakes and not chasing yer man causes as many if not more goals going the other way

Really which defenders are you talking about, I was at every game at Domain and I can tell you now he was double teamed on pretty much every occasion one on one he was rarely beaten and he was probably one of the only forwards to beat Rance this year.

His form did drop off in the second half of the year as did the teams, 40 goals is a pretty good effort considering his age.

Anyway circumstances dictate he has to play this year, i don't believe in gifting games to young players if they don't deserve it.

coaching staff need to monitor this closely...no easy games for him out of privilege

doesn’t perform game upon game, he MUST have a tap on the shoulder… :(

anchorman" post=81547]With Fyfe playing forward more, it will take the pressure off Pavlich. Also with Bennell playing a mid come forward role again will take pressure off Pavlich.
Not all doom and gloom as the easy come knockers of Fremantle seem to think.
They have just looked at things as a single not a whole

Some find it just too easy to diss on Freo.

ME MATE? NO...

Harbour master member mate so lets get that sorted...

A TAP ON THE SHOULDER IS A MUST ANCHOR ...should there be the need, I hope there isn't one

I dont think its dissing as such a/man, just ( unfortunatley) the record shows that Freo have not succeeded as yet. Even this year finishing on top, yet not making the GF. Then not being able to secure a power hasnt helped. Silvia and Simpson ( high draft pick) also doesnt read well. As i said prevoioulsy i dont think either Stevie J or Pav should have played on. I'm sure Stevie J may well have kicked 30 or so goals this year too, just think its not the way forward. Each to their own though
