How very very true MikeH.
On my Geelong message board ( as is the case with many vic based afl teams) the last thing they want is another hawks flag. I'd say its 80/20 in fav of the Eags ( should they make it)

My opinion is Ross has done a good job with the players at his disposal...Four finals in a row has been good for the Dockers both on and off the field.
However Freos skills under pressure and unforced errors say to me that resting the players was a mistake.Pav and Fyth yes but the others????Players where fresh and fought right to the end but down to the last 4 now.Skill errors are punished by the good sides.Maby if in the same position next year a game with Peel might be better than resting,so skills stay sharp.

Spot on Mikeh. Remember about 14 years ago when Essendon played Brisbane & Carlton supporters got behind the Lions because if Essendon won it would have given them more premierships than Carlton.

Yes, correct Brisbane had a huge following in that GF, but Port had it when Lions going for 4 on the trot.

What shits me is the non supporters who barrack for a team in a GF, bait the loser & celebrate the GF as though it is their team - farkwits

Bit disappointed we won't have a derby GF. As for the distasteful incidents at the game, they have made me embarrassed to be a West Aussie. Doesn't matter which team these creeps follow, it was way beyond disgraceful.
Many people have said they'll never take their family to a game again. My advice to them is start going to WAFL games - you won't have it that bad there!!!

Spot on 58shark. The WAFL is a very family friendly environment. Most of the banter is very good natured. There is still the occasional moron but you can walk away from it and go somewhere else.

We used to be able to chat, had disagreements and all, as you know. But at the AFL games now, it is almost an infringement on OUR space to have someone in the oppositions colours.
It is a shame as it takes a lot of fun out of the game.

Watching footy AFL in WA is not a patch on watching it in Vic, which is why in the past 10 years the ratio of games Vic to WA for me is 5:1 and I live here.

Here is a stadium with 90/10 supporter ratio, Games in Melbourne usually around 50/50 ratio, far better atmosphere and enjoyment in watching the game.

Most enjoyable gamed seen in Melbourne, Collingwood v Carlton not a fan of either side, great atmosphere, followed by a Geelong v North friday night game. Worst game seen in Vic for atmosphere Richmond v Beats, because of the samed problem here, supporters of only one club really there

Easy to get involved in banter at games you only got to watch other sides pay.It is funny you make comment about one side and you get howled down. Then you do the opposite and get howled down . Then you tell them you don't barrack for either side just an unbiased football follower from WA and the usual reply is piss of back to where you come from.
But I love it.
