absolutely on the money 58. i know we have a 24 hour news cycle and media outlets are all over this type of thing but it would be much better for all concerned if it wasn't broadcast on every station and in all newspapers. it would take away the oxygen these cretins crave...it'll never happen i know but it would be good if police had powers to suppress covereage under certain circumstances so radicals like this guy don't get their 15 minutes of fame.

Reading his History today, the bloke is clearly a nut bag. Why was he out on bail, in fact with his past history, accessory to murder, sexual charges, lost at the high court Friday in his appeal to have his convictions quashed for writing hate mail to the family of dead diggers.........

Why the f$%k did this bloke not have his passport taken from him, his Visa cancelled, and been put on a one way flight home, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00 and Under no circumstances, do not return to this country.

Thoughts go out to all those people that were involved, and to the families and loved ones of the people that got seriously injured.

Two of the hostages died. :( :(
All of which, one needs to ask of our supposedly 'tough' gun laws? Was there not a gun buy back scheme before, that was reported as being a big success at the time? How can one person have a weapon, and another person cannot acquire one? The law should be there for everybody! Obviously a lot of our laws are their to limit ordinary decent folk. While the 'tough' gun laws has no effect on criminals, undesirables and other idiots!! What weapon did the gunman have? How was a license obtained and for what reason? Why does someone living in the city need a weapon for?
A very sad chain of events to happen, especially at this time of the year..

RIP to those who died.

And to those survivors who's lives will never be the same.

Saddest thing was the sight of a Merry Christmas sign with a hostage forced against the window with the evil words of a sick religion. very poinant one religion of peace looking forward to a happy celebration and one a cult of death and hate.

RIP Happy Go Lucky Australia, glad I was brought up in the good years, this country has been sold out and wil be rooted in decades to come.

It wasnt an automatic weapon or semi auto, it was a shot gun, in regards to our guns laws , they are very good and too prove it just examie to mass shootings here compared to USA, long may our laws reign.

Because we have a media and government attitude of what rates better, and what is deemed protocol with other countries.

This is just the beginning. Todays events are nothing. The reality is we are at this stage because of incompetence at Australia's highest level, and the refusal to take a stand and show some clout. None of us thank them for it.

I agree 100% mate, like you I think today's events are pretty mild compared to what we will confront in the future! fact is we have been sold down the river, we have hostile alien ghettos in our own country. As well as that The Chinese are flooding in like there's no tommorow and buying the place up, and pushing out locals, go to a lot of schools now, you won't see a white face.

That's one thing I can't accept, foreign companies and non-Australians buying up agricultural land and houses/apartments. Most countries don't allow this. We are way too tolerant, and others are taking advantage, it's not being racist, it's reallity. It really annoys me. I lived in Japan for two years, you want to see racism, try being the only white guy in a city of 29,000. Had to get my boss to take me to the barber, as no one would cut my hair.
If they want to join the conflict in the middle east let them. Cancel their passports whilst they're in mid-flight, then tell the country they are going to and let them deal with it. They don't like us or our way of life, so see ya.

yes mate, I have been to Japan, its a whole different ball game there, they put their own people front and center, they have a very strick immigration policy, they also happen to have one of the lowest crime rate in the world.

The manager of the cafѐ and a female customer did not make it. Sad Christmas for the families.
Let us just hope the right questions get asked and answered properly.

Two lives wasted - I could have cried this morning when I read the outcome. I felt sure the police would round the prick up without loss of life. Not that anyone could blame the police in any way...they busted their arses trying to stop his happening. The people or system that allowed this nutter to walk the streets are the ones that need to answer to us.
