Essendon are up the creek one way or another.
If the players are suspended then there is going to be 34 lawsuits filed against them for all kinds of stuff including loss of wages. If this happens then I cant see how Essendon survive.

I'm not sure that's right yolo as they all signed waivers absolving Essendon from any responsibility. Whether those waivers could be considered unconscionable and therefore uninforceable given we're talking about a banned substance is another matter but I agree with your basic premise that the whole sorry mess is a long way from over.

Latest development....ASADA's chief witness has by all reports not been asked by ASADA to stand in the witness box...fear of cross examination or do they fear Charters intends to provide the evidence he says he has that will possibly exonerate the players on the stand. Unlikely as he has been advised by his lawyer not to sign statements or stand in the box. Either way you read in to it, their star witness is playing both sides and asking for 6 figure sums thru Mick Gatto to boot to tell his story. So much for a remorseful so credible witness as ASADA would leave you to believe. What a complete and utter farce!!!

What a surprise that you popped your uneducated ill informed head up. Still a very long way to go before the players are guilty.

Question for you Mr North - Has there ever been 34 infraction notices given out when the maximum SINGLE doses of the alleged product is 26. This is not even considering the fact that there is still much uncertainty as to what was in the aforementioned vials. Nor the fact that these were credited when queried by the club. Nor the fact that the program would require each player to have in excess of 15 doses each.

So good luck proving that to a level of "comfortable satisfaction".

But I am sure you will have an answer. I look forward to you imparting such knowledge.

With respect and understanding to victims of sexual crimes requiring anonymity, I would think that any court case or investigation such as this one where 34 players reputations are on the line, some their careers, where that the accused won't have the opportunity to cross examine the major witness who ASADA's case has been built upon because both ASADA and the lawyers of said witness don't think it's in their best interests for him to take the stand to face any scrutiny of his testimony, considering that his is a known and convicted criminal who is now attempting to sell new evidence for big $$$ to any interested parties via Mick Gatto of all people before judgement day arrives, would be a compromised investigation of the highest order. If Shane Charters testimony is so legit what the hell have ASADA got to hide from. By all reports the evidence is circumstantial at best so by not calling on their whistleblower as they'd like to term him, ASADA are confirming they don't trust his testimony and/or evidence under cross examination. Charters has made piblic statements he has now found evidence that could possibly clear the players of any infractions yet ASADA aren't interested in investigating these claims as it may compromise their enitire 2yr investigation for which a conviction has been their only agenda after spruiking about the Darkest Day in Australian Sport. So much for McDevitts claim he is only seeking the truth of what happened at Essendon in 2012. If the players go down for 2 years because of the testimony of Charters who is now saying he is withholding evidence to the contrary of his initial testimony in which it has been reported his lawyers have advised him not to sign off on anyway, then yes, this whole investigation would have been a FARCE.

If Charters recent claims of new evidence turn out to be true and ASADA choose to ignore them by refusing to investigate this new evidence in their hell bent quest for players to receive guilty convictions, how can we possibly ask any sportsman in this country to comply and trust the enactment of the WADA code in future. Guilty as charged even though can be proven innocent is not an outcome any Australian sportsman should have to face from the investigating authority. If so the AFL should scrap the WADA code immediately.
