Well Bease...somehow Aust got out of that....great last gasp slog by the bowlers....payback for getting slogged at the end of that Eng innings....surely WA boy Cooper Connolly comes in now...bats and bowls some decent spin....deserves a chance....

40 runs in 3 overs with 2 wickets left? That's out of the boys own annual. The fat lady was definitely singing by that stage but the English boys learnt a harsh lesson there. Its never over till the last ball.
Sully and Murphy saved the blushes of their captain who threw away his wicket with an injudicious shot when the Aussies were cruising to victory. Fantastic game of one day cricket, full of twists and turns and pity the losing team is out of the tournament.

Huge choke at the end there by England - nearly as big as Perth's last season trying to pop their 21st Century finals cherry.

Unbelievable win in the end I for one thought they were gone at least 8 times during the game.
Some incredibly dumb shots played when cruising to victory with around 100 needed off 120 balls (isnt that supposed to be a doddle in this T20 era) but the bowlers got the job done with the bat not the ball in the end!

Yeah that was a howler by the ump.....I am not sure what has ever happened to the old mantra of benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman as that was high and only marginally would it have even brushed leg stump but given out.....mind you Hearn was plumb lbw to the Pommy spinner later on and was given not out so even up in the end!

After 2 dot balls to begin the 48th over 40 were needed from 16 balls. 22 came from the bat of Connor Sully off the next 4 balls. A couple more boundaries from number 10 Murphy, a miss field by England on the penultimate ball and Sully's clearing the closed in field off the last ball got us over the line for an unexpected victory.

Aussie bowlers putting some pressure on the Indian batsmen....who haven't been tested one iota during this comp...obviously the Aussies have to bat, but hopefully they can chase down any total the Indians set....

234 is what they are chasing after the Indian tail wagged.

Updated- We could not have started any worse if we tried!!

1.Fraser-McGurk run out without facing a ball off the very first ball of the innings.
2.Harvey dubiously given out lbw off the 3th ball of the innings.
3.Hearne bowled for a golden duck off the 5th ball of the innings.

3/5 after 1 over.

WTF was Fanning thinking. A suicide run out, a dodgy LBW decision and a superb yorker and all of a sudden Australia is 3 down in the first over. I think we're stuffed.

BC did you just see Fanning stop a potential run out throw at the stumps with his hand?
The kid is obviously not mentally in the game after that pointless, ridiculous, suicidal run out of Fraser-McGurk off the very first ball.
