Any interest in this series? Have been struggling to understand why Australia would travel all the way to India to play 3 ODI's. The obvious answer came to me. $$$$ of course. This series will be a run fest if the pitches are anything like they normally are, Australia has Warner, Finch, Smith and Labausagne. India has Rohit, Kohli, Rahul and Dhawan all in form. Short boundaries and quick outfields will make for a tough time for the bowlers. Looks like the old firm of Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins will play together in an ODI in India for the first time, will be interesting to see if they can click.

The one ray of hope for Australia is that if they can take wickets in the first 10 -15 overs, particularly Kohli and Rohit, it may expose the Indian middle order which has not had a huge amount to do given the continued success of their top order. Easier said than done though. I still think Maxwell would have been useful over there given his IPL experience.

mikeh: I will put it on for background noise. It is something to watch until the next test match in Africa starts.

I for the life of me cannot remember anytime in the last 40 years or so an Australian mens cricket team playing cricket overseas in the middle of OUR cricket season in mid January.
The old tri-series ODI's would just be heating up about now after a 5 match Test Series, but in 2020 what the bcci wants the bcci gets in this day and age!!

I don't know about you guys but I would love to see a test tour of the Caribbean at some stage. Especially as the Windies finally seem to be getting their act together somewhat. Better than these meaningless one day ODI tours

I had hoped when Ch9 lost the cricket rights I had heard the last of Michael Slater's warbling from the commentary box....seems not thanks to India!

There hasn't been many tours involving the WI due to their long running contract issues & money and there hasn't been a grain of stability for years
They seem to have a pretty good one day cricket side now and there are a few options by the look

Well fark! - the 1st ODI was a bit of a walkover.

India all out (in the 49th) for 255. All the bowlers amongst them.

Australia none fer 258 in 37 overs.

Yes certainly didn't see that one coming. The bowling attack worked as a unit and never let the Indian batsmen take control of the game. They kept at it even though India were very well placed at 1 - 125 at the half way mark. Getting the two established batsmen in Dharwan and Rahul out in quick succession allowed the Aussies to bowl a number of cheap overs and robbed Indias innings of momentum. I think India erred by not batting Kohli at 3 so as a number 4 he didnt come to the wicket till about the 27th over. I think you have always got to bat your best player at number 3 and if Kohli had done this he would have been out there in the first 10 overs and been able to control the game and the run rate a bit more as only he can, so India may have had a more productive first half of the innings if he had been there. I think he will bat 3 in the next game.

Warner and Finch were absolutely ruthless and they scored easily at over 6 per over, the ball seemed to be coming on to the bat a lot easier in the evening so chasing may be the option in this series. From that performance I think Australia would have probably chased down 330

From the dressing room shots Smith and Labausagne looked like they were champing at the bit to get out there! I'm sure their chance will come in the next game
