Big setback for the Scorchers with Jhye Richardson out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury. Morris will be back soon so that should compensate for this loss. The batting is another matter. Faf has done OK but he is leaving, Lyth has been a dud. May be time to go back to Inglis opening with Bancroft which seemed to work OK last year in the powerplay. They also have another English guy Eskinazi to come in, he has been playing for Claremont Nedlands this season so he is well and truly acclimatised.
Amazing that Adelaide chased down 230 in the game last night. Matt Short must be very close to national 20/20 selection

Went along to the Scorchers game last night, great atmosphere. It was a shaky start by the men in orange with 80 from the first 7 overs (Munro was brutal during this period). Once that first wicket fell, Brisbane lost 9 - 90 and ended up well short of where they should have been. 171 was still a challenging score though but Bancroft and Hardie made it  into a doddle. Brisbane Heat only had 2 front line seamers in Perth which was a huge error as the Scorchers batsmen plundered the spinners. Hardie is a very talented batsman as he showed in last years shield final and I'm sure he will be picked for Australia sometime in the near future.
Morris bowled fast, went for a few runs but took a couple of wickets as well. Great to see Cooper Connelly making his debut as well and he contributed with a couple of catches

Why on earth these BBL teams pay these International has been's or in some cases never was's so much money has me stumped?
For Perth Lyth was next to useless, a young batsman from club cricket could have done a better job, whilst Faf was not much better and awful in Perth.
The other teams have also had next to no value from some of these "Professional T20 players" surely playing local would be far more cost efficient?

Though that was easy, would that have to have been the worst bowling attack ever in BBL? Very ordinary. But the batsmen, Hardie and Inglis did it on their ear.

Both have become a very strong part of the Scorchers. 
A friend of mine who has written books on Goldfields sports and is an avid cricket fan, asked how Hardie was rejected by the IPL teams at a bargain basement price of $40,000.
He considers he is a much better T20 player than Green, who free $3.4 mill.
 

The reason why the Scorchers have been so successful over many years is that there has not been such a reliance on overseas imports. The core base of their team has always been local players and they have driven the culture and performance of the team. 
Inglis still has a chance of a last minute call up to India as I believe that Handscomb was injured in a grade game the other day.
