if we're talking the best side since 1987 in any particular year I'll go for Subi in 2015. Almost untouchable during the season, won the GF in a canter, chock-o-block of WAFL stars headlined by Sam Menegola who's gone onto bigger and better things no thanks to Ross Lyon...how would they stack up against successful teams in other years? who knows but you'd be going to get anyone who'd give them a run.

Peel -- alignmnet side -- they did have to qulaify for the finals in the first place
SD some of the sides in the early 90s were strong -- 2010
PFC -- the side which Ken Armstrong led to the finals -- you can't count the year the Eagles gave you Spinks, given the title of this particular thread.
WP-- 1995 -- heroic club since that time, I don't care what anybody says

Claremont in 1991 were a great side AR.
We rolled them by a kick in Round 1 then I don’t think they lost another game for the rest of the year.

BC I think that the 88, the 1995 side and the Peter German sides were a bit stronger all over the ground; although, as you say the 2015 side had plenty of talent; if we had of had Boland in any of the Peel finals we would have won the flag.

Though he wasn't a coach, East Perth did give East Fremantle Ian Thomson.

John Nolan, Robert Solin, Leigh Willison were a few other players to head to Moss St from Bulwer after Thomson, Smith & Alexander Archie.

Not wishing to hijack this thread, Beas, but the mention of Rob Solin made me think of AFL's Scott brothers.
Just as Brad and Chris Scott played it hard on the field, so too did Tony and Rob Solin.
And both sets of twins have coached against each other, but the Solin boys were WAFL coaches for just two years each, I think (Rob, EP, 1994-95; Tony, Subi, 1993-94).
Topic for another thread (three-club players), I know, but both Solins played for three WAFL clubs.

I'll go along with the 95 side AR but they didn't get the job done thanks to Paul "Gaffy" Mifka whereas 2015 did by the length of the straight.

Mate I reckon Neeshams tigers from about 87 to 89 were the best, I reckon that side in 89 was particularly outstanding.

Yep I agree Claremont late 80s under Neesham were as strong a WAFL side as you would of got pre eagles. Have a look at the names Kickett Allan Panizza Thorn Ralph

As far as South goes , yep SF 2009 beat Subi, but I would actually rate our sides in 1989 and 1992 as better even though they lost both GFs.

Yep..I don't disagree but remember Subi demolished them in 1988 which imo takes a bit of the shine off.

EF 1998 side went 18-2 in the H&A games then beat WP in the 2nd Semi by 50 odd pts and in the GF by 40 odd points.....definitely one of EF better sides post 87....

Subi 2008. Lost only one game by 1 point which scraped in by 1 mm with one minute remaining. Finished with a % of over 180 and handed out thrashing’s in the finals. Hard to beat that, well maybe this year...
