its all govt money, your business case would invovlve getting "commitment" from various departments for your end of the project.
you dont run off to sport and rec and apply separately like you indicated.

Well that depends on how big the project is MO.

Lathlain and Cockburn involved local, state and federal govt. money along with private investment. Local govts generally submit the applications on behalf of sporting clubs to agencies such as DSR as part of their own desire to decrease the councils financial input

Never indicated you just run off to DSR, actually stated the opposite :
'Being Not for Profit Sporting clubs and incorporated allows WAFL clubs to apply (with their local council) for these grants'.

To be honest MO, I reckon we are boring the shite out of a few people so happy to discuss further via PM.

Your clutching at straws here quite frankly, its fairly obvious what the process is, a project is laid out , all parties /stakeholders agree and it goes forward, for example the project at Claremont might have involved Sport and Rec chipping in towards the new change rooms, lights etc all these things are done on a partnership basis starting with memos of understanding. there are normally multiple stakeholders involved in projects like this, I know for a fact that even the Public Transport Authority is involved with the underground Car Park there.

Bazza - the information provided from Tiger tales was that Swans apply for a grant to Sport and Rec.
why would they do that when the redevelopment has not been approved ?
more breaking news from Bazza - its a Landcorp project so of course its a government run car park and operated by Wilson Parking, that was part of the deal all along.

No I actually suggested that DSR funding is available to all sports which includes the WAFL clubs. This is one of many funding opportunities available. I also suggested that clubs at any level of football can't afford to self fund these large capital works and therefore must rely on significant govt funding for the projects to occur.

Even if clubs could afford to, why would a clubs board/committee utilise solely its own funds for large capital works when these funding opportunities exist? It would be terrible mismanagement of Club funds.

What I can guarantee you Mark is when SD does get approval and support for the project, several tiers of govt and agencies within govt including DSR will contribute significant funds towards certain aspects of the project which meet the individual agencies set criteria.

Given your proximity to the train station this may include funding from the PTA for car parking as was received by Claremont.

Bazza gets it - I think everyone gets it except you Mark.

Try to keep your posts on topic please. I have created this subject and moved posts here about discussion around ground developments and grants as the Eagles stand alone topic is I think a very important topic of discussion.
