2016 Attendance V 2017 Attendance

After 6 rounds the 2017 attendance is 42582 V 2016 attendance of 46077. Whilst the difference of 3495 could in large part be due to the 6090 that attended West Perth's "British?" day in Round 3 last year however with the exceptional seasonal weather in April the overall attendance so far this season could be considered somewhat disappointing. The round six attendance of 7699 was down on the corresponding round attendance of 8090 in 2016.

The attendance figures have been proven to be flaky at best as highlighted by the change down in numbers from 2 of the games last week.
Why I wonder?
The crowds I have witnessed first hand this season have been far better than last year regardless of these figures that are apparently declared "official "?!

Hope nobody points the finger at the folk on the Gate.Reckon they do their job as a matter of fact of fact job, collate their figures, add it up and send it and the receipts to the Home Club and Commission.

Now,be interested to see if someone up top has a bit of a fiddle,eh? What bothers me even more,is the missing Attendance Figures. The Buck Stops with YOU Gavin and Murray!

WTF do YOU think you think you're doing You Lot?!?!?!?!

All part of the narrative from the WAFC Grassy that the comps fked and needs major restructuring. Of course shaving off the colts will be a genius move that will lead to a flood of new punters through the gates and maybe reducing the comp to 6 teams through mergers will equally mobilise the public. Could they be anymore delusional in that sheltered workshop at the WAFC?

Don't think so, didn't the WAFC promise a huge surge in crowds due to the alignment ?? If that's the case if there is a conspiracy in place wouldn't it be to pump the figures up,

Fact is all the conspiracy talk is BS, the figures are what they are, and all receipts are subject to audit , don't forget its the clubs that submit the attendance receipts , if you think your club is fabricating accounts, perhaps you better report them to the auditors reporting time.

If you think the figures are higher come up with the hard evidence, just guessing (I reckon there were more cause I just know mate) and going off newspaper estimates is not good enough.

No real excuses, bar the drop in interest due to the alignment and a few more dropping off, tbh I was happy with the 3000 plus attending the derby given EFFC bad form and crap time.

Fact is the public have lost the appetite for it, and both local AFL clubs are semi competitive this year, at least last year the dockers were a basket case meaning a few drifted back to wafl. Wont get that much this year.

Fixturing has not helped, I reckon having 3 games Good Friday was out and out stupid, spread it out a bit more on long weekends

Foundation Day will be a test, lets hope EF can fire up a bit , as its not looking good for a decent crowd at EF oval that day, problem is now we have the Anzac Day game there is not much gap between that and Foundation Day.

Yep add it to Grassy's conspiracy thread in General news.

Grassy wrote: Why would clubs Fabricate their attendance figures,Bazza?

LH had a theory years back, but it slipped my memory as to what it was.

So now your blaming the actual clubs for commiting fraudulent acts in terms of gate receipt accounting? Is that correct?

I just said someone had a theory about 1 Club. Can't remember it now,so it doesn't matter.

SO is that a No? , is it possible you can be less ambiguous?

If it is....In that case the figures are accurate.

On the record Swans only count paying patrons and those with a yearly pass.
