Cesspit wrote: Yeah true EF and C would have strong colts followings you would think. It makes it a bit misleading though when you consider that the crowd actually watching the league match is only about two thirds of the published attendance.

Yeah exactly.

I've actually seen some colts crowds of like 600/700 people and some when it's only 200 or so. I wish they'd hang around all day but I guess people have other things to do.

The Colts start at 9-15 am, by half way through the League you have been atthe footy for about 6 - 6 1/2 hours makes it a long day

La Hincha thanks for all of the stats and reports - I am sure it is very much appreciated by your fellow posters.

I understand the reaasoning for having multiple number of teams having a bye on the same week end and the overall complexity of the draw. Surely, however, it is possible to have a more reasonable draw than what we currently have. With respect to Swans the gap between matches against East Freo, the consecutive games against Peel, consecutive byes for one team and Perth's multiple weeks (3) away games can hardly be conducive to garnering and maintaining supporters for the WAFL clubs. Do you think the fixturing anomalies plays a detrimental part in the crowds the WAFL gets?

It could be better mate that's for sure I reckon.

It's definitely weird fixturing it terms of how close together teams play each other. I don't understand that at all. Some teams play each other twice within 4 weeks. Senseless.

But I do understand that the Foxtel Cup has messed things up a lot. They have to create byes where there should be none because of it. Like you say That's why we have these rounds with 2 games only.

The best thing about this year's fixtures is the number of WAFL games that are not opposed to the Eagles/Dockers. It's about time. The SANFL was right onto this from the start fixturing matches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday most rounds to get away from the Crows/Power and to place emphasis on each game.

If I was in charge, one change I would make would be to extend the season by a couple of weeks so that our grand final is after the AFL Gtand Final. Once again, like the SANFL. 21 or 22 matches instead of 20 each isn't a big deal.
