At $25 a pop for a pensioner/concession it is not cheap to go either, rememberring the elderlly make up a higher proportion of the audience for WAFL games. How is it possible that an 'adult', someone whom is in paid employment, gets in for $30? The price structure means that, the poorest element of the population are paying proportionally more to see the grand final. How is that fair?

Good topic Ark. The same should be looked at for every Wafl game.Half the admission prices and let's hope we double the bums on seats.

gtrxuone: thanks; I am a wee bit shocked to be honest, as those figures suggest that the WAFL believes pensioners are on about 85 per cent of an average adult wage, something which is obviouslly not the case for that particular demographic cohort.

I would have it as follows:

Adult $15
Members $10
Kids/Pensioners $5

For regular season games, Adults should be no more than $10. Pensioners $5 Kids Free

Given that gate revenues are not the main income stream for Wafl clubs these days. Its something the comission should of looked at a few years ago now. They have got this GF all wrong.
Ark do you remember when you read the Monday paper looking at the Wafl results. They use to allways have the gate receipts listed with the scores, goalscorers best players and injurys and reports.

Yep, I do remember those days; it is interesting you should mention this 'gtr', as I was recently on the 'cr.org web site having a look at Shield scores form the past; and, as you say, it had all the information you listed: attendances, which were in the thousands for most days, plus the gate receipts.

$8-$10 maximum regular season $15-$20 for grand final. Any more is virtually telling families etc piss off we don't want you. The free entry for kids should be raised to 21.

Excelling myself on one occasion, I managed to get a couple of foreign friends -- a British colonial from Zambia and an Englishman, to attend a WAFL game. Things did not go entirelly well, we lost to a powerful Claremont side and I was called a 'counter revolutionary'by a monts fan for wearing the blue gold colours and supportting Subi; but, one thing all three of us agreed was that $15 was a bit steep to get in the ground.

Rember back in the 80"s Wafl gates where over $100,000 .Cricket wouldnt take that size gate but your at the game a lot longer..Summer,Cricket,Beer.You would guess as a complete day that Cricket would turn over a lot more money.

Really disappointed with these entry fees, so counterproductive. If it's expensive to hold it at Subi oval then shift it to Leederville, only going to get max 10k at the game which would be close to fullhouse at Leedo plus for after the game Oxford street is much more vibrant than Subi which is becoming quieter and quieter the closer it gets to the ground being closed at the end of next year.

Non members $20, Club members $15, Pensioners and other concession card holders $10,
students and kids under 18 free. Home and away games are $15 so a 1/3 loading is fair for a GF. reasonable when you consider you can watch 3 GF's for that price if you choose, Hopefully some of the EP faithful will stay on after their 2 earlier GF's and support their co-tenants whom they all love as their second team B)
