You're right about knowing what to expect, but it doesn't make it any more palatable. I really believe Freo will win the elim final this year, but how much more contrived can it get? They said on the radio that Freo have something like 20+ players that have qualified for the finals, but they're waiting to see how many the WAFC will allow them to play. So this tells me that the idiots running our WA game know they have fkd up big time and now are trying to put a band aid on their incompetence. Totally disrespectful to all things WA football.

Kirbs I have absolutely no interest in watching the two AFL aligned clubs play in the league final. It is an absurdity that Swans and East Perth colts are playing at Mandurah. The game should have been played at Basso.

why is it absurd? Would you have cared if it had of been at Joondalup following the League game or Fremantle?
It is even more stupid to have stand alone Colts and Reserves games, the colts and the reserves are the lead up to the main event and that is the way it should be.

They do this ridiculous stand alone game crap in the amateurs and going to a ground with no game before or after is like going to a cemetery.

the fixtures for the finals are one thing they have right, if you don't want to go then don't go.

Beasley Hutton,if your mob ran yourselves like a professional football club ,you might not be in the current situation you find yourselves in with several players up and leaving this year and in previous years with the likes of Twomey and Robinson.Your comments about Subi pinching other teams best players make you look like a hyprocrite when you consider that your mob have had no less than 2 former top players at Subi win your fairest and best in the last 10 years.Jarrhan Jacky was another who was pinched by your mob on his return from the AFL after coming from Subi.Glass houses and all that sort of stuff!

Mudlark I must have missed us winning 7 flags in the last 12 years sorry no we have won only 1 in the last 25!
With that sort of record why on earth would your mob even need to continually pinch the likes of Menegola, Twomey, Robinson, Daniels, McDougall, Kayler-Thompson, Hancock, Heal, Jackson, Fimmano, Sokol, Shepherd, Lockyer, Stockley Ryan, Latham, McPhee, Yarran, McKenzie from other less successful WAFL clubs or their zones without even mentioning the plethora of Victorians/Interstaters the likes of Delahunty, Boland, Kitchin, Mahoney, Smith, Rix, Bristow, Daye, Gum, Sinclair, Sells, McDonald, Herring the list just goes on and on and that is only in the last few years!

You left out the best of them all BH, Alli Pickett from Peel.

I tried to only keep it to only within the last few years alone DD otherwise I would need another few pages to fit them all in!

No different to any other club chasing a flag.....pretty sure a few ring ins have helped many a club to win a flag over the years.....EP had a few between 2000 - 2002, EF during the 90's....yes BH last century I know.....and SD in 2010......pretty sure a ring in got SD over the line that day......if we all had the money I guess why not......playing and developing your locals has only seen some clubs go backwards instead of forwards or simply stagnate.....though SF have done well out of few returning ex locals......I guess it's quality of your local products and not simply sheer quantity of them.....

Yep no doubt Freeze the difference being EF in the early 90s & Swans in the mid 2000s were extremely poor performing sides who had both lost a plethora of players to the AFL and needed to replace with some experience and class to just stay competitive, not a side that are just continually topping up Premiership teams with their weaker oppositions best thus weakening their competitors and at the same time strengthening themselves!

Anyways the attendance figures dont lie and to have hit lows not seen since 1941 says there are many fans who have now lost all interest in the WAFL and good luck getting them back in these times of busy lifestyles and time precious folk!

Freeze: I have made the same point myself many a time: I don't think Sokol, Stockley, Ryan and some of the others were getting regular games at their clubs, either. Think about Mick Johns and SD lads, you were the defending champions that year.

I dont think Liam Ryan even got an invite by EF Ark......more fool them......kudos for Subi giving the kid a go and the WAFL community as well.....Sokol was left to rot in SF reserves from memory.....though is Sokol even at Subi still?...after that 7 l game I havent heard anything more of him.......
