Interstate and missed all scratchies and will miss this week. Hanging out to see the Sharks but won't see them to early April when they play Subi. Won't be going to that dump in mandurah unless they are having a party to celebrate removing them from the comp. As for Royals, nope only go to Medibank to watch the lions play the Sharks. Which is more than what my (now ex) East Perth supporter mate is doing - he's pulled the pin completely. Understand his reasons but still a bit extreme.

That's what I'm worried about. A lot of my EP friends aren't going to go anymore either. One of the strongest supporter bases cut to pieces for a tiny potential improvement that the Eagles may experience. It isn't worth it.

We all want success in life but I don't want it if it means others suffer in the process.

The two AFL sides couldn't give a rats about how much suffering takes place as long as they have their 1% improvement.

For that I'll never even watch them on TV again.

But we were sold out by non west Australians to the Vics. They sold our souls for threepence. We even had to pay to be involved. Had we stood our ground like the SANFL we would have had a much better AFL now for sure.We sold out much to quickly. We went to them cap in hand and said what do we do to help.Rather than saying this is what WE will do to save football in general around Australia.Had we held out there would not be the number of Victorian clubs that there still are now.
Gee I must have written that at least a hundred times since I been coming onto football sites almost know it by half.it still makes me very angry that we were sold out cheaply by non west Australians.

Beautifully put Anchor. Hardly anyone saw this or even sees it now. Marketing and Media could use this example of the power that they have. The Victorians must still piss themselves laughing at us.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

anchorman wrote: With all your rhetoric on what has happened with the WAFL competition, how many of you will actually boycott the Peel and Royals games?
How many of you will allow your team to go without support because of your attitude to the two alignment sides.
How many of you think that the number of supporters will go down because you are playing Peel or East Perth.

Here's my 20c worth. Still feel  and :( about developments that have happened during the off season. I think some people will boycott the games involving the aligned teams. I think it unwise for people attending these matches to abuse the players. Obviously they have simply accepted the situation and take to the park to play footy. To abuse the players would be bad. They would have been like the meat in the sandwich. It being a contrast because many people connected to the Mandurah team believe the takeover is beneficial. Meanwhile up the road the view is different in many people believe the takeover is not on. Whilst some people accepted the outcome. The lads from Leederville have lost memberships but with all this cash the so called footy commission has suddenly found and is splashing about, losing a few memberships probably is not a concern?
As I've prevoiusly said, both alignments will probably gain more memberships as time goes on? It will be interesting to know the membership numbers of the other 7 clubs and compare them between last season and say, for the next two. Compare the numbers to view any increase in support for the non-alignments.
I wrote in a previous post of taking a big backward step from the team I once supported and will now watch from afar. I feel as if the rug has been pulled out from under my feet (so do many others)and for me it's going to be a difficult season. I cannot see myself travelling to Perth and watch them play :( I loved the wafl because it was the wafl and it being our game.

Once again a lot of Rhetoric about my mate and this mate that friend all of whom are East Perth Supporters doing this and saying that!

At the end of the day we will see who is there and who doesn't show, that will be the proof of who has jumped and who stays!

The folk that I work with at the club trainers, past players etc are still all going to the club and continuing to do their bit, the players all appear to be ok with the chnages and the future.

Like most things if the team wins then the supporters will come a running, if they lose then the vultures will have their day.

For me it is a game and a game /competition that I love, it will get my support with my usual dislike of the Cardinals, the disdain for Claremont and Subi, a disregard of EF and tolerance of SD, P, SF and toytal and utter ignorance of Peel!

Have good one and I hope you enjoy the new season

Grump is right. Back when the Weagles won those flags for the Royals there were three people at work who were suddenly Royals supporters (and one of those I had worked with for six years!). Two have since retired and the other is no longer with us but I look forward to the next batch willing to ride the Eagoyals gravy train. The only thing stopping either team from dominating will be massive injuries which hopefully would give one of their juniors a rare chance to play league.

I know one thing for sure and that is it will be a cold day in hell before either AFL reserves teams gets a cent out of me.

Interesting comments in the newspaper article attributed to Brendan Lee, so called leader at East Perth. Quote'From the past 3 or 4 months it has only worked well and the resources that West Coast have been able to push down and help out with has been great. It would be silly not to pull some resources down from what we can get hold of and implement whatever works to our strengths'. That word RESOURCES has a real bad smell attached to it and the alignment will only get more resources thrown at EP and Peel in 2014. Brendan Lee has said it all really.
