180 point Win?!Fantastic Win in a Premiership Year for Cam Blakemore's Team.

Perth really under achieved in '75 for some reason.
Losing grand finalists in '74 and premiers in '76 and '77.
I think they finished 6th in '75.

Great topic love to see media of past glory days. Was that Tom Gruilisich (sorry about spelling) on the front cover with Murray Couper? Tom must still have nightmares about playing on Murray Couper. Coups bagged 13 on him one day think it was at Fremantle oval too. I was up on the farm that day listening to it on the wireless lol.

1975 was my first GF, an old Subi supporter who lived up the road in Morley took me and brought a brick with him for me to stand on because we stood under the old scoreboard. Lol, if you took a brick with you to the footy these days you would be handcuffed and thrown in the paddy wagon. Shame it was so one sided. From memory Barry Day booted 8 goals and Alan Watling ran amock. Remember Don Haddow that day with one of the best mullets.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

+1 Singha ...how on earth did we let a couple of Eastern states snake oil salesmen sell our great comp up the river whilst also propping up those bankrupt Victorian clubs still has me shaking my head 30 years later!!

Dunno mate, I'm over it. I lived in Victoria in 1985 when Subi smacked St Kilda by 60 points in a pre-season and loved giving it to everyone. Fond memories.
To think we have come from Subi almost beating Hawthorn in the 1986 battle of the premiers to not even being recognised as the state where Maurice Rioli weaved his magic.

Now we have all the money being pumped into women's "AFL" and the media circus that goes with it. vomit

Like I've said elsewhere. I survive on just shutting out the whole AFL thing. I don't follow mainstream media. I don't watch commercial tv. I'm on twitter and I only follow what I'm interested in. The news comes to me. I'm not exposed to cooking shows or instant singing stars, or anything AFL. I'm pretty happy with how that goes so far.
I follow for better or worse, John Townsend, Ross Lewis, Jacob landsmeer, Daniel Scamozzi, Jonathon Beal, Jack Crawshaw, Blake kagi, Ben Cameron, Glenn Mitchell, Chris Pike, Sean Cowan, Brett Raponi, WAFL etc etc etc
Its pretty cool. Thanks to my mate Hondo Gratton for exposing me to it. I am now officially in my little cocoon...

Yeah mate I might have to do the same I think. I have already long stopped reading the 2 local rags, I also dont watch free to air television thankfully.
I can also remember SD beating Collingwood easily in an Escort Cup game in 1982 at VFL Park where we wore OUR jumper and Collingwood wore a predominately white guernsey I just wish I could have seen a young Edward McGuire's red face that night!!

Swan42 do you remember the 1982 Escort Cup game i have posted about above?

I recall Toddy sending a reserves team over in protest one year. Bit hazy on the details.

Gees mate that brought back some magic memories of the real Mighty Black & Whites absolutely pantsing that other black & white mob who had played off in 5 of the previous 6 VFL GFs and with names like Shaw, Picken, Davis, Annear, Fellowes et al running around....one vid for those who still believe the VFL was so far superior to the West and the rest
