Each & every one of your pathetically inept & hopelessly compromised employees have officially condemned this once powerful league to being the biggest joke of Australian Rules competitions around the country

Not content with one dubious cancellation of a game in a particular season - oh no

You pulled it twice & didn't even try to hide your gutless cowardice in the face of a scumbag , maggot riddled Victorian competition's club and it's blatant disregard to the WANFL

And to the head of this so-called Football Commission - well you are a slimy piece of Cat turd of the lowest order who is totally corrupted by your previous association with the Cockroaches at Subiaco Oval

I hope you rot in hell WAFC

Statement from Steve Hargrave Manager of the WAFL

WAFL general manager Steve Hargrave said it was crucial the playing surface met the minimum standards required for players competing in the premier State League competition.

“The turf contractor has been at the ground today undertaking further remedial works to improve the condition of the turf,” he said.

“Whilst trying to provide every opportunity to ensure the game went ahead, unfortunately the turf does not currently meet the standards required for a safe playing surface and contractors will need to continue restoration work to ensure it does for future matches.

“As a competition we are extremely disappointed that this is the second time in 2016 that a WAFL venue prepared by an external turf contractor has not been delivered to a safe standard, which significantly affects each of the WAFL clubs involved and has a significant financial impact on the home WAFL team.

“We will be undertaking a review on all the turf contracts associated with each WAFL venue to ensure this situation does not occur again.

“The WAFL apologises for any inconvenience to fans, players and other stakeholders but must ensure the welfare of our players is at the forefront of our decisions.”

Will be interesting to see what comes out of the investigation and review of the turf contracts. I missed the information on why the turf was relaid in the first place. Perhaps it could have been done during the State game bye to give it a chance to settle.

Gotta laugh about the game being cancelled.Anybody remember round 18 2014
East Perth v West Perth played at Leederville.
During the reserves game a huge downpour occurred and made parts of the oval into puddles. The league game still went on.Same oval different teams.

WEST Perth’s slim hopes of defending their premiership drowned in the Medibank Stadium puddles when they suffered a 21-point defeat at the hands of arch-rivals East Perth.

In conditions rarely seen on Western Australian football grounds, the Royals kept their opponents goalless for over three quarters of football on the way to recording their tenth consecutive victory, 5.9 (39) to 2.6 (18).

The Falcons kicked their first goal courtesy of a Rohan Kerr set shot at the three-minute mark of the opening quarter but had to wait until six minutes into the final term for their next when Ray Bartholomew scored a major on the run.

The loss sees West Perth drop to sixth on the ladder, four games adrift of the fourth-placed East Fremantle with only five matches remaining.

Coming off a crushing defeat at the hands of Williamstown in the Foxtel Cup Grand Final in Geelong on Tuesday night it was always going to be a major challenge for West Perth to take it up to the league leaders only four days later and despite their best endeavours they struggled to find avenues to goal on the heavy track.

East Perth’s South-West products Steven Payne, Brendan Lee and Mitch Fraser relished the conditions and utility Callum Sinclair was the most effective big man on the ground collecting 23 possessions and winning 35 hitouts.

I do follow Freo but on this occasion their contempt for the WAFL was a joke.
