Good question, I think AFL listed players are eligible but would be hard for anyone in that situation to win because if an AFL player was a star for a few weeks in the WAFL they would probably be promoted making it difficult for them to gather enough votes in the Sandover

You would have to think that Connor Blakely would have polled some Sandover Medal votes playing for the Fremantle reserves' team.

I'll stand corrected but I think the year Matty won the medal he was rookie listed but did play 4 AFL games from memory to fill in for a long term injury.
Great story of a player nobody wanted, was too old and too slow .... and too bloody good!! and probably the only bloke that might sneak past Fyfe given he wont play anymore games before the finals.
