So all this time we have been wondering why WAFL crowds have dropped off. Its because the games are too long. Of course, how didn't we see that? For 80 something years we have had it all wrong.

Worth a try , just to see how it goes I reckon, standstill and this comp is only going one way - backwards.

Baz, these ideas are only being dished up because they neglected and completely screwed the comp in the first place. Now they are suddenly concerned about where its going?

I wonder if the SANFL will do something similar?
Id say probably not because they aren't dick heads over there.
That right is reserved for WA only.

The biggest single difference between the SANFL and us is that they don't allow the AFL to interfere & bully them into decisions - yes they do have alignments but they are massively restricted (as they should be too) given the training , assistance & resources provided by the AFL machine to those 2 sides

a cyncial view would be that the broadcasters are pushing for shorter games to fit in with their tv schedule and have also come up with the idea for the 20/20 format to market that to increase their ratings ?
