Andrew Purser, Bindi Miling.
Peter Lecras, Bindi Miling.
Kevin Mazuchelli, Chapman Valley.

Alf Shiosaki, Mullewa.
Graham Kickett, Gero.

Did Ricky West, North Midlands, have a run???
and
Ken Marshall, to Subi, Gero.
Paul Linnane, St Pats Gero, Perth.

A bloke called Roger Tonkin from Moora signed every under age male child in the Central Midlands area to East Fremantle b4 it went over to Subiaco.

Considering all the talent Old Easts got from Central and North Midlands it just goes to show how shocking Subiaco were in developing those Leagues.

Carnarvon along with the other Leagues north of the 26th Parallel were not part of any WANFL or WAFL zone.
Ken Armstrong did some preliminary coaching clinics there in the mid 70’s but to no avail for Perth.
Darren Forbes, Ramblers, Swan Districts and Revel Oakley, East Carnarvon, Old Easts, set the scene but it was Claremont who hit the jackpot when they got Michael Mitchell to go down. Not sure about Kevin, maybe someone can fill in about him.
BH it’s up to you but I think the Northern Leagues should be a separate “zone’ in their own right.
Gascoyne, Exmouth, Pilbara leagues, Broome, Kununurra and possibly the Eastern Goldfields League.

Good pick up Dev I am not sure how I missed Michael & Kevin Mitchell from Carnarvon  I will blame fatigue. ;)
Michael & Kevin Mitchell were 2 of the most exciting and enjoyable opposition players to watch in my 35 years of WAFL fanaticism, the sort of players that make you fall in love with our great game & state comp.

PS- Just on another note can we just stick to those towns listed in the OP those being from Carnarvon down to Moora (the old EF country zone) as I will be covering off each individual WAFL clubs old country zone weekly for the next 9 weeks.

Cheers boys.

Brad Rowe is another who burst onto the scene and was an exciting rover/forward pocket from Gero in the late 80's before VFL stints at Bris, Coll & Freo.

Revis Ryder, Gero
Paul Hasleby, Northampton, (honestly what is in the water up there), Mazenod.

Tarkyn Lockyer, unfortunately the Mid West can’t claim him. Born in Albany, played for North Albany.

Did Brad Rowe and Robert Zupanovich play for Gosnells in the SFL B4 going to East Freo?

Custodian wrote: Thanks Freez, yes it was Kevin Mazzuchelli! Another talented GNFL footballer was (Steve?) McCann who by-passed the WAFL when he was recruited directly from Geraldton by North Melbourne in the late 70's and played about 200 VFL/AFL games.

McCann went over to Norths with Graham Carter. Carts came back to Old Easts.

And ended up at Thornlie in Sunday League (Carter). Met Steve McCann on the streets of Barcelona back 1987, got a photo somewhere

Kevin Mitchell actually was an apprentice Jockey when he was about 15, but got too big & heavy then went onto play WAFL footy

Michael Mitchell was brilliant, won goal of the year and mark of the year in the same season for Richmond in late 80s. Kevin played in three flags for Claremont.
