the good old days at east perth. what an era that was with him.

Going back to that era, who recalls the Sunday World of football panel with Frank Sparrow, Fred Woods, Mick Cronin, Steve Marsh etc debating the issues. As a little kid I was very amused by their banter and arguments. They were famously dubbed "Dads army" by John Todd

Yep those guys were from a different era.......the commentators today are too cliche with their comments and analysis.....the banter was the bit which I enjoyed... seems like only yesterday listening to them all as a youngster in the 70's.....the time certainly does fly by!

JKW. I remember a brilliant East Perth player Arnold? Cox was in great form. In a game against Perth in the seventies, Cox suffered an injury just before the game. JKW announced on the radio, as the players were running out, "East Perth are running out onto the ground with Cox out". Classic.

Dads Army were really entertaining, unlike today's Robbo and whatley talking crap, they were to the point. I still remember Steve Marsh going crackers about the so called "Perth Derby". "THERE IS ONLY ONE DERBY IN PERTH AN THAT'S THE FREMANTLE DERBY".
